About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

I had sent a claim in for aid and attendance in February 2017 to the Roanoke, Va. national claims office, for my Mother who was a Widow of a POW from the Korean war. Didn't hear anything for a couple of months. I called they had no record of the claim. I went to chapter 13 and had the claim e-mailed to the Roanoke office in April 2017. I called in June and was told that they had no record of a claim for my mother. I then personally took and hand delivered (4 1/2 hour ride one way ) all documents for the claim to the Roanoke office. Was told that they would file an intent to file and for me to get the nursing home to fill out a paper and fax it back. The facility did that. In the end August 2017 I received a letter from the VA wanting to know if I was going to submit a claim or not. They were getting ready to deny her claim. I got on the phone with the VA personally and discussed the matter of the claim and they told me that they did not have any paperwork from the roanoke office at all. I had to go and get all the paperwork redone because of the incompetence of the people in the roanoke office, and send it straight to the VA. Well my Mother no longer needs the aid and attendance because she passed on 09/14/2017. If there was a way to rate the roanoke office lower than 1 star I would give it a negative 10. It is such a shame that an organization such as the DAV has such incompetence in an office that is suppose to fight for the Veteran and Dependents . I will never recommend this office to anyone. Vets would be better to go to the Purple Heart. VFW, American Legion, or just contact the VA themselves.

My claim was sent to this Dav because of the backlog I guess in my area. I talked to them once and they wanted to know why I was calling them. They said I should consult the Dav in my area even though my Dav told me where my claim was and to call THEM! They told me I would receive a call back but it's been two weeks and no return call. They definitely are the worst so find an organization that actually cares about veterans. Oh my claim to date is 18 days past the estimated completion date on eBenefits so you would think they would be on this and give me some feedback but that would be too much like doing your job.

I have been a member of the DAV for several years and assigned under the Roanoke VA office. While DAV is a good organization overall; however, the Roanoke office has been anything but sympathetic to my plight to get assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs. I am multi-disable veteran who is trying to get help with my disability compensation and the local Roanoke DAV has marginalize my cause and pretty much refused to follow up on any of my VA claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs. I feel like I have no recourse at this point but to write some type of review like this one to let others know what they can expect as well. If you are in need, please do not go to this veteran’s service organization location because you will not get it. They will not evening keep you informed of when there’s a change in your claim. Word to the wise….RD

The case managers are friendly and caring, they work very hard to help in every way possible. It is also a blessing to know that there was no cost.
