Dealings with service writer Ellis Barmore an excellent experience. He gave professional assistance and advice concerning my 5th wheel and its service
My husband an I drove 3 hours from home to Camping World of Roanoke to have our roof cool coated an replace all the caulking on our motor home. So they called a week later to salary it was ready, once again we made the 3hourbtrip one way now to pick up our motor home. We decided to stop an stay in Wytheville on the way home because it was raining so hard that we couldn't see to drive. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the bedroom to see it still leaking after just paying someone 700.00 dollars to do a roof treatment that didn't work! Going back tomorrow to talk with the manager hope this can be resolved!!
I would not even give one star I wish I would have read other reviews but I do not always believe what I read on the internet??. I am not sure if most camping worlds are like this one or not... Yes very nice staff I will give them that. No communication between any of the different services at all. Would have left us drive off the lot with a bad tire if we would not have said anything about it .... Exposed metal from a blown tire that should have been fixed before we even got there... Rear stabilizer motor was bad and we drove off the lot without checking it shame on us now they will not replace it... A 9 hour drive to do business never again..... And wonder what else is going to go wrong that I am sure camping world knows all about.....
Bought a used motorhome in January, 2016. Within two weeks, I took it back to have things fixed that were supposed to work already, including both convex drivers mirrors were lose and falling off. Was charged $129 to fix the antenna up indicator, $129 to fix an antifreeze leak among other more expensive repairs. Neither of these items were fixed; I found and fixed the antifreeze leak by tightening a hose clamp, and am ignoring the antenna up indicator. Then, when I went to flush the hot water tank, I found that it had been full of water during the frigid months. After cleaning it out and replacing the anode. I connected water only to see it running out of the coach along the slides. Investigation found that the coupling nut on the kitchen sink was broken and thus had run water thru the unit.
Just a horrible experience-I drove my RV to Camping World of Roanoke to get a waste pump fixed. At the service desk, they told me if I joined the Good Sam’s Club, I would receive 25% off labor and parts. They said labor was $125 an hour, gezz, so I said OK and they escorted me to the front to buy a membership. So far so good; but that was the end of good!!Upon delivery and examination, I saw there was no promised discount of 25% anywhere, and I had been charged about $80 for a BS supply surcharge—this was not in the original estimate either. I questioned the person, and I could tell she was very uncomfortable about the bill. She stated that the computer made the decisions about the Good Sam’s discounts, not her. She was the same person that sold me the membership and offered the 25% discount to start with; I guess the computer changed its and her mind.
