My children went there in the 1980's my grandchildren still attend the Academy. I meet so many people who attended as children and now bring their kids there. This is the best child care center in Hillsborough county, bar none.
Very friendly on first visit to enroll. Owner is the fakest person I've met in years. Rules changed because I brought my son at 845am. New rule says child has to be there at 830 or has to go back home. Energy from the staff was so negative. My wife was ultimately unsatisfied so we switched him to another school. Staci couldn't care less which made the decision more satisfying. Maybe 1 African American child but I doubt it. No diversity and one token African American staff member. Rated HALF A STAR. FOOD IS NOT KID FRIENDLY. THEY LET MY CHILD GO HUNGRY TILL PICK UP. CANT BRING FOOD FROM HOME. WORST DAYCARE IN THE STATE!!
I highly recommend this daycare! My twins have been going to La Petite Riverview for 2 years now. We went through the transition of directors but they found the right one! Cathy is very experienced and truly cares about the families & kids. My daughter has autism and recently started the ELPP program at Sessems. La Petite allows part time care, where most daycares do not. Hillsborough county schools would not shuttle my daughter because La Petite was "too far." Ms. Cathy went above and beyond to make an exception for the La Petite bus to pick up my daughter. This was huge for my family, Thank you Ms. Cathy! If you have read other reviews below, La Petite Riverview has done a HUGE turn around since Cathy arrived. It's clean, the staff is friendly, organized, and FUN! If anyone reading this has any doubts I would be happy to speak with you about my experience here. 813-846-3539
I love Krestview Academy! My son started when he was 12 months and he's now 16 months and using the restroom! His teachers are amazing! They take their time to work with him on it, and I can see the passion they have for the kids. I wouldn't trust anyone else watching my son, but the Krestview teachers.
Krestview academy is run by the most caring staff. Tina makes every child prepared to enter kindergarten. She takes time to recognize when a child is sick and makes sure other kids don't. I would never take my kids anywhere else.
After having a very bad experience with another daycare in the area, we switched to Staci's learning station. My daughter was 2 at the time and I couldn't be happier. She is 3 now and her manners are so much better and I'm not getting the eye rolls and derogatory language I was getting before. I love this place! Teachers are amazing, owners truly love the kids, and you feel like family.
This "preschool" is a joke. The Director/Teacher is not very personable. In fact, she's just not nice at all! My child was no more prepared for kindergarten then my two year old and it showed once he started. I have no idea what they do there for half a day but they certainly didn't learn. Another one of my friends had a child attend there said the same thing, her son was not kindergarten ready and didn't learn much there. Both of kids struggled at the beginning of kindergarten because they were considered "behind" for the common core standards. They do not inform you at all of what is going on the classroom, they rarely have classroom parties, they do NOT want parent involvement and you have no idea what your child is doing/learning there. I was shown my child's state test scores once and supposedly they are tested 4x's throughout the year. This is NOT a fun, exciting learning environment. The only positive thing I have to say about this "school" is that the secretary makes it look better than what it really is. She's on top of her job and if you want to know anything, you have to ask her. B/c the director/teacher is "too busy" to talk. She seriously needs to retire b/c she made my child HATE school before he even started kindergarten! You also aren't allowed to pick your child up from the classroom, which I think is really weird. They bring them out to you while you stand in a hallway in a separate part of the building. It's pretty obvious they don't want anyone knowing what's going on there. Most preschools encourage parent involvement and this place STRONGLY discourages it. Don't let them tell you otherwise. Not to mention the director tried to tell my son was ADHD *which is a major NO NO by professional teachers*, he couldn't see and needed glasses! He does NOT have ADHD, which was confirmed by his pediatrician. His poor eyesight was the issue, not his behavior.
This is truly a great school/daycare. We started my son off at another VPK school and after many problems moved him to Staci's Learning Station. I noticed a difference in him right away. He loves it and is learning so much everyday. I can go in and talk to his teacher anytime needed without problems or making an appointment. Everyone is so friendly, its family owned, and they make you feel welcome from day one. They get to know not only your child but family as well. My son started wearing glasses mid-year and was unsure about them so she talked to him and even pulled books to read to him about a boy wearing glasses for the first time. My husband and I would choose this place again and recommend it to anyone looking for daycare or VPK.
