General Info

Since graduating from law school in 1981, Mr. Ask has served the Riverside and San Bernardino communities as a bankruptcy practitioner. He has represented people who have been drowning in debt, many in fear of losing their homes, in several thousand bankruptcy cases in the past 32 years.

Bankruptcy is a little bit like poker. You've got to know "when to hold em", and know "when to fold em." It's a talent that you can't learn overnight, but Mr. Ask knows his business very well.

Our Senior Bankruptcy Paralegal has been with us since 1987. When you contemplate bankruptcy, you will ultimately have to place your trust with a practitioner who can help you make the right decisions. Bankruptcy isn't the answer for every family in financial distress. You need to talk to an experienced lawyer who listens to your concerns, and helps you address your issues, with just as much care and knowledge as he would with members of his own family.

We invite you to come to our law office, which is staffed with people just like you. We are not here to judge you, or lecture you, or to remind you of how much we know about bankruptcy. We are here to listen to you. We are here to "walk you through the minefield". The hardest decision you'll have to make is to pick up the phone and call us for an appointment or send us an e-mail.

While bankruptcy may not be your first choice, when dealing with your financial concerns, you shouldn't wait until all other options are gone. People come in to our office all the time that have needlessly drained their retirement accounts in order to pay down debts, that never had to be paid.

Time is not on your side. Early diagnosis is just as important in law, as it is in medicine.

Mr. Ask will give you his undivided attention during your hour-long free initial consultation. That goes a long way in helping you make sound decisions about your finances, and helping you understand and sort out your options.

If you are experiencing financial distress, losing your home to foreclosure, dealing with wage garnishments, losing your car to repossession, or ducking and dodging the IRS, you are seriously distracted and not functioning up to your capacity. You are suffering from emotional, mental and physical distress. Your relationships with others are being impacted. Often, Mr. Ask can help you prioritize the challenges that you face, keeping in mind that, family comes first.

This has a way of making the whole experience easier to deal with. Financial distress can bring about trauma. Our job is to reduce your stress down to, perhaps, a speed bump, or an inconvenience, but not a dreadful and frightening experience.

Ronald W. Ask passed the State of California Bar Exam in 1981, after graduating from Western State University of Law in Fullerton.  He is a graduate of California State University Long Beach, and Long Beach Community College.

Mr. Ask served on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve from 1954 to 1956.

Mr. Ask opened his first law office as a general practitioner in Ontario, California in 1982.  He moved his practice to the Riverside, California area in 1983, where he has lived with his family since 1962.

Since filing his first Bankruptcy petition in 1982, Mr. Ask has handled Bankruptcy petitioners that number into the thousands over a 30 year career.

There are two basic areas of Bankruptcy that benefit consumers, homeowners and small businesses.

1.   Chapter 7 benefits families and individuals who are overwhelmed with debt, whether it be from consumer debt, health catastrophe, loss of income, business failure, or other reasons. The debts are wiped out and the person or family gets a fresh start. In most situations, the person or family is able to keep their family residence, automobiles, furniture and personal affects, even though their debts are discharged.

2.   Chapter 13 benefits individuals and families who are in danger of losing their home to foreclosure, and, in certain instances, individuals and families who, for one reason, or the other, intend to pay all or part of their debt, but wish to consolidate them into one single smaller payment. Chapter 13 stops foreclosure proceedings against the family residence and provides a payment plan for the homeowner to catch up.

3.   Small business owners, on occasion, find it necessary to liquidate and go out of business. Chapter 7 proceeds permit the business owner to discharge the debts arising from the failure of the business. This can be done whether the business is a proprietorship, partnership or corporation. Sometimes, a proprietorship (not a partnership or corporation) can be salvaged and kept in business by the filing of a Chapter 13 Debt Consolidation.

Thats what we do here, and weve been doing these cases since 1982.

Mr. Ask employs two long time paralegals. Both have been with him since 1988, and both have had extensive training and education.

Dear Mr. Ask & Staff:

I extend my dearest THANK YOU to you and Renee for all of your time, effort and supoert put forth on my case concerning the "Medi-Cal Estate Recovery" issue.

I'm still in shock and surprised that the State of California actually excepted my waiver, free and clear of any Post-death-liens, etc.

Thank you for regaining my belief in our system of LAW and those of you that are there for those like myself. You are very much appreciated. Thanks Again, and may GOD bless you for your service to "We the People".
