I don't enjoy giving anyone a negative review, but I just don't have anything good to say about Eagle Ridge Gymnastics. Our children have been in preschool, rec, and team programs at ERG, and I never really felt that they were given individualized challenges, or individualized help with skills. The classes were taught as if everyone was always on the same page, needing exactly the same skills, and with any group of children that is just never the case. Also, there was NO emphasis on team building or encouraging the children to support each other. There seems to be an unequal emphasis on the boy's competitive program, leaving the girl's program to flounder. My biggest complaint however, was the lack of communication between the parents and staff. At ERG, parents are highly discouraged from taking any part in observing their children at practice, discussing the children's progress, or anything else for that matter. If you dare attempt to communicate with the staff, you get blown off. If you ask any questions, you are given a rushed answer, and usually only a partial answer at that. They do NOT want to hear parental feedback, opinions, or ideas. I don't know if this is because they are uncomfortable dealing with parents, if they think we don't matter, or if they just have no clue that their actions are sending this message, but it comes off as unprofessionalism and disrespect, and these are things I just don't tolerate when it comes to my children. We have since left ERG, and have found another fabulous gym in the Rio Rancho area. Don't waste your time with ERG, shop around and find a program that truly cares about your children and challenges them as the unique individual that they are.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT take your children to Eagle Ridge Gymnastics!!! I refuse to see any more of my friends or their children hurt by the disrespectful and unprofessional coaches and owners of this facility!!! The owners of ERG care ONLY about getting your money, and NOTHING else! There is NO communication between parents & coaches/owners, and they will not allow there to be any! They will shun you for any feedback you provide, or questions you ask regarding your child's coach, your child's progress (or lack therof), or for any other reason they see fit. The coaches in the rec program are mere teenagers, and in the team program, the girls' team coaches have little coaching experience, and even LESS experience being gymnasts themselves. How can one effectively teach something, that they themselves have never even attempted, let alone, successfully done?? Check out the results for yourself at http://www.nmusag.com. Most of their girls team members do not even come close to having a competitive edge over other teams, and it's not due to lack of talent on the gymnast's part, but rather to poor coaching. Don't put your child in a situation that you will later regret. There are other gyms close by to choose from that are run professionally, where your child can develop and perform to their fullest potential!

Do not send your daughter here...

Do not send your daughter here for competitive teams!

After spending thousands of dollars here over the last 4 years the owners decided that we were no longer a fit for their gym because we asked if the coach of our daughters competitive team (who had no experience coaching) needed some help. They obviously cannot handle any feedback and took this as an attack on their gym. They said we were a “plague” on their gym, were “bit%hing”, and that my daughters team “means less to us then t-ball”. We had been told by several people that this was a “boy centric” gym for a long time but I never understood until now that “boy centric” meant the girl’s teams were completely insignificant.

Bottom line – if you send your kids here, be prepared to sign your check and shut your mouth – feedback is not allowed.
