Go to Kernville! I was charged not only for the shot given my ShihTsu but also had to pay for the person giving the shot! Then I had to refuse added testing that had absolutely nothing to do with a back injury! The male vet gave me a prescription that if I did not research it first, could have killed my dog because the strength of the pill was for an 80-100 pound dog, not a 15-20lb. The dosage at that rate would become lethal and/or cause permanent liver damage. And on top of all that, The bill was so outrageously high I had to use a credit card or else I would have to apply for their choice of medical credit card that charged an exorbitant interest adding insult to injury. All that to find out that the only thing I could do for my pet was immobilize him for a month or so in a carrier to let the back heal on its own and to give him the meds as needed (The dosage was adjusted after I filed a complaint with the head vet over the overdose) We want to be able to trust our pets are receiving the right care and cure. I will never use them again . However, I do recommend their cremation service. At least that price is fair and included an urn for my beloved 16 yr old cat. The office workers were really sympathetic and I will always be thankful to them during such a hard time for me. But for my dog....never again unless I want him cremated!
The only reason its one star is because this site makes you do it, negative stars would be better. Crestwood is mainly concerned with you paying your bill and not your beloved family member (pet). I belive they are directly responsible for the death of my kitten. I will never darken their doorstep again.
This vet is horrible, we brought our dog in for an EMERGANCY because he was seizing and he was falling over, couldn't walk and they left him on the floor in the waiting room for 30 min while they continued to take regular appointments ahead of us. The vet tech looked at him from over 6 ft away and says "he's fine".... Really?! Once we finally got in a room we waited in a room for another 10 min while my dog was condition worsened. My husband insisted on a vet to come in, she came and took vitals then left again. The associate vet and she said he was "not in a seizure" but had no idea what it was. She tried to give us anti inflammatory and antibiotics. We refused the drugs as the lady was prescribing them blindly and we left, but not before they charged us Emergency fees and I told them all off. How could you trust these people with your best friend in an emergency???!!
WE took our dog to Tehachapi and we saw the team at The Veterinary Hospital, Dr Komin is awesome. Our dog WAS in fact in a seizure and now probably had brain damage from being in it so long. Dr Komin did blood tests and gave him meds to get him out of the seizure right away. They took care of our boy and though he did not make it, we felt much better with the care and attention we got in Tehachapi.
I would not recommend Crestwood to ANYONE, not even someone I didn’t like. They just flat out do not care; you can tell the moment you walk in. Caring is something you really can't fake and they don’t even bother to try. The whole staff was really heartless.
If you have an emergency in Ridgecrest, you’re in trouble because they are the ONLY one, but do yourself a favor and drive an hour or 2 out of town, you will be glad you did.
