The car was not available and someone had just turn in the same car for probably the same reason we had to return it due to smell of cigarette smoke. I had a meeting 1 :15 minutes away I was delayed because they did not have another car available they wanted to upgrade me to a Van which was crazy. only one person working front desk. I had to wait to pick up car at S. Laburnum Avenue location. I have always rented from the airport. Main street was very poor service. I have never been ask for as much information I had to provide at this location. Upon returning car to another location they charge me a late fee when the car was return on time. I had to call for that to be removed. Never will I go there again. For all my trouble and missed appointment they should have suggested some type of reduction or something to make amends for all the trouble I had to go through for this rrental

Enterprise is a wonderful company. This location however, very unprofessional. The car I rented smelled horrible, like someone was smoking inside. I was running late for work and didn't have time to switch into another car. They asked about car damage, as I started to point things out the worker stopped me stating scratches bigger that a dollar bill, dents bigger than a golf ball, everything else was normal. When I went to return the rental because they had sold my rental halfway through my agreement, they claimed I put the damage on the car. Basically took my money, took the car and left me high and dry. When I requested the corporate number they gave me the wrong number. Finally found it on google, called and explained everything and never got a call back. I am working on taking it to court. If you must rent don't go to this location.
Just the best-run business in America, Best customer service I have ever seen. Always a pleasure doing Business with this location.
The last rental I got with Alamo was a great experience. I rent with them quite often. I wanted a particular car and they didn't have it so they provided me a free upgrade and I was very pleased. Thanks Alamo!
I travel to RIC frequently for work and have tried almost every rental car company there. I was greeted by a Emerson Club rep who was very friendly. He gave me instructions on where to go pick up my car. Originally I had reserved a midsize car, when I went upstairs to check in the lady was very professional and nice. She said they have plenty of midsize cars to choose from but that they would upgrade me to a full size SUV at no additional charge. She let me pick a Ford Explorer, fully loaded, and very clean. I have co complaints about my experience and several of my coworkers also use National as their go-to. I could not have been happier and will go back again!
Small airport issues. Lack of selection. No Emerald aisle. Staff was friendly, but a tad distracted. Airport probably too small to do it "right". The main gripe I would have would be car selection.
Busy day, but got my car quickly and the selection was good. No emerald isle at this airport. Rental cars are very close to the terminal, so short walk.
I just moved to Virginia in mid February and rented a car at this location. I was told it would be $360 for a certain amount of days, with partial insurance. Extended car rental an extra week. When I checked my account I was charged over $1,100 dollars for a car I only had two half weeks. This is outrageous and deceptive. I was charged a daily rate, time/mileage and a base daily base rental of $45.00. I will be complaining with the BBB of Richmond. Never again will I do business with Avis/Budget again!! So disappointed and taken advantage of and I will attempt to get my money back!!
National Rental Car sent me an email asking for a review, so here it is:I put our luggage in the first Dodge Charger rented to me, and my wife sat in the front passenger seat, and explained, “Someone has been smoking in this car!” I promptly turned the car back in and exchanged it for another Dodge Charger. This car was the dirtiest I have ever rented from National (I’m an Emerald Club Member). The back window was so dirty, it was distracting every time I looked in the rear view mirror. I thought about washing it myself (the smudges were on the inside), but when one spends $300 to rent a car, one should not be expected to wash windows.
Heads up anyone renting a car from this location. Make sure before driving off that it's tags are up to date and that it has the required and up to date state inspection sticker (if the state where the vehicle is registered requires it). If pulled over you will be held responsible and not the rental company. And it could be difficult (so far impossible from these guys) to get them to reimburse you for the fine.
