All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
Helli my name is David I was at executive auto repair on a saturday with my wifes 2004 honda accord which was over heating and stunk of antifreez. Prior to coming to executive auto i was at merchants tire up the street where they looked at my car and told me that i needed a radiator and some hoses and my bill was $ 781.00 i said thanks but i cant fix right now it was just too expensive. So i was driving home i saw this chrome brick building and it was a repair shop called executive auto repair so i decided to go in there and have them check the car out. They brought it in and let it cool off and they checked it out and determined that the radiator was fine nothing was wrong with it. I just needed a themorstart and 2 new hoses and my total bill was $ 185.00 with labor and parts. I was very happy with the price but even happier with their honesty. As for the other major car repair chain they have lost a customer for life. I will definitely be returning to executive auto repair and from here on they will be my only repair shop. For their honesty and service i give them 5 STARS.
Thanks Pastor Jun for referring me to a wonderful repair place that is honest, fair priced and best of all 'Christian'!!!!!!! Whooooo Hoooooo!!!! You took care of my baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so amazed at how this tiny 'hole in the wall' business took care of my business so that I could return back to 'business as usual'.......it's not easy to find if you blink your eye you could drive right by, but once you're there, you're treated like you're part of the family there! Very prompt, pleasant and professional, but best of all they took care of my car problem, didn't rip me off, didn't overcharge me, didn't rig up something bad to happen so that I would have to go back to them.......they are very honest, helpful and not your usual run of the mill 'highway' robbery type of repair shops that I and my entire family had fallen 'prey to'!!!!! You're tops in my book Tony's Auto Repair & Sales!!!
I think Neptune is great & here’s why. Picture this: a sea of obsidian, a lake of black glass. That’s what the hood, trunk & roof of my black Lexus LS460 looked like after Neptune detailed the car this past fall. Although my Lexus is garaged, the winter & summer had been hard on it. There was gunk on the lower ¼ of all 4 sides that had been baked on, hardened in place. It was a combo of melted snow, road salt & mud, and I just couldn’t touch it. Enter Neptune’s Brian. He did the usual detail job inside & out, but at a higher level. Then he attacked the built-up gunk outside. ..and prevailed. He employed a series of liquids & tools to carve thru the gunk and smooth out the surfaces. And he was friendly & professional. The car is now clean & smooth, thanks to Brian. He was very professional & explained everything as he went. I heartily recommend Neptune & Brian.
So I was in desperate need, or I should say that my wife was in desperate need of a detail for her van. Not only had it survived years of abuse by our 3 children (soda, gum, popcorn) by all the usual stain inducing compounds, but our 125 pound black lab cut his ear on a nail under our fence and on the trip to the vet caused a mess you would not believe. As one can imagine one short trip to the vet and it looked like a blood bomb had exploded in the back part of the Van. I really didn’t think it was going to come out. Brian assured me that he had seen worse and that he could get the job done. When he called me out to see the results I was floored. The inside of the car was as close to what it looked like when we drove it off the lot brand new than any other car wash service that I had used before. I would recommend him to anyone. Great Job Neptune!!!!!
Nice little family-run place. Very friendly, quick, and inexpensive. Charge per quart used plus filter for oil change, mine was $26. Other places charge $40 just to check a bunch of extra, unnecessary crap. Here they just get to the point. They'll invite you on into the shop and joke around and talk with you while they work. My muffler needed replaced (ok, it rusted entirely off) and they told me how to replace it myself (being a poor, young man and whatnot). They dont take credit cards so bring cash, or there is an atm at the Sunny Mart next door. Oh yeah, at can be a little hard to find, it's behind the Sunny Mart on Cary and Mulberry. (Mulberry is the little one-way st. between Boulevard and Robinson) I've lived in Richmond for 4 years and have never found a lube place I liked, I'm so happy I finally found one!
First of all, I am not related to anyone at Baskfield. I have been bringing my vehicles there since 2000. I have never had an issue with quality. My cars (and trucks) have been serviced correctly the first time and returned to me within the timeframe that was agreed to. I have had brake, cooling system, electrical, engine, exhaust and suspension work performed over the years. Curtis and his team have had to troubleshoot some pretty complicated issues and in each case I have left their shop a satisfied customer. In addition, I have recommended them to a number of friends and associates and I can report that each of them was satisfied with the work done on their vehicle. High quality at the right price is a great combination especially in today's economy. I wholeheartedly recommend Baskfield for your automotive repair needs.
My family has been Allen Tire Inc customers for 7+ years. We have always visited the same location but recently we have been going to the Forest Hill Ave. location. This past week I needed 4 new tires as well as an oil change for my car - once again, Allen Tire Inc. delivered the same great service we have grown to expect from them. Billy Allen helped advise me on which tires were best for my car and my daily driving, ordered them, called to set up my appointment, and ensured that I was satisfied with the new tires. While waiting for the service to be completed, the shop has wireless which was very nice for my little one to play on the iPad. The gentlemen at the front desk were polite, helpful, and nice to talk to while we waited! Thanks Billy and the Allen family for your continued commitment to your customers.
My wife had been complaining that her 2002 VW Beetle needed some cleaning up so I decided to get it detailed for her while she was at work. Found Neptune on line and gave him a call. I found Brian extremely helpful and we set a time. I told my wife and she managed to find a few more interested people at her work, which got everybody a discount since there was more than one. We got the Golden plan. He came as scheduled and spent the whole afternoon on her car and she was thrilled with the results! She's very picky about little nooks and crannies and I never get these when I work on it. Great job inside and out and I would not hesitate to use Neptune again or refer him to anyone looking to a give their car that new look again.
I was traveling from P.A. visiting friends in Richmond area on a Sunday and my car was in desperate need of a good "handwashing" to remove the remains of the past snow storm. I found Neptune Mobile carwashing online and read customer reviews. I called the owner and spoke with Brian and he explained the process in depth and agreed to meet me at my choosing. I arrived 30 minutes early and Brian came right away. I was impressed with his passion and detail to clean every inch of my car and the precision from which he worked. I would highly recommend Neptune Mobile Carwash to anyone who wants their vehicle pampered and sparkling! I will definitely use his service again!
Patience + Quality = Neptune is Numero Uno in Customer Service In my job I deal with customers all of the time, some more difficult than others. Believe me when I say I know customer service. So when a car wash service visited to clean my wife’s 2002 Escape, I had low expectations. Boy was I wrong! Brian Davis put me right at ease with his professional, calm demeanor and his expertise on the cleaning process of the upholstery and rugs. He made me feel important. The old half-cup of coffee stain disappeared from the rug and so did the legendary Virginia Beach water marks on the back seats. Neptune, believe me when I say you know customer service.
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
