Called these clowns out to fix my ac unit that wasn't cooling. Tech said it needed a recharge (1 lb of R12) and also had him check for leaks. Thought he found one and then sealed it. Spent half his time talking on cell phone. Charged $450. Unit stopped cooling 3 months later, called, sent out clown who charged with 3 lbs. R12 and spent half time on cell phone and charged $560. Didn't bother having him check for leaks. Should have bought a new unit from the start. Lesson learned.
Technician came to my house, I was at work so I left keys out, and did his diagnosis which revealed his solution; clean the blades and take out a pound of Freon(R22) because there was too much in the unit. 3 days later, nothing has changed so I call Foster's and ask what will happen next, what sort of guarantee do I have since someone just came out. The answer was none, he would come out again and I would need to pay for whatever services were performed. I was irritated so I called someone else. When this other company came out, they told me the problem was that the unit was low on Freon and the caps had been left off which probably allowed some coolant to escape. He ended up putting 1.5 pounds of coolant back in the unit and it has been running great ever since. I don't like to jump to conclusions but I don't feel I was treated fairly at all; I also spent a lot of money which is frustrating.
I've got so say they do shoddy work. Our house is three and a half years old and they did the initial plumbing install. I noticed a wet spot in my ceiling and opened it up, to find the straight joint between two pieces of 2" waste PVC pipe was leaking which I had to repair at my own expense. That is just ridiculous - if the pipes had been joined properly in the first place, this would have lasted for decades. As it is, I have an entire house full of pipes I can now expect to fail prematurely due to shoddy workmanship.
I'm college student and haven't had water in my apartment for 5 days because of a pipe bursting. The original problem, day 1, was behind the sink where I could clearly see water dripping in from the foundation. Day 2, the landlord called some random plumber and this plumber concluded the problem was with the city pipes but the city claimed it was the house pipes (which it obviously was because there was water coming in out of my back wall). Day 5, My landlord was negligent in finding a competent plumber within reasonable time and was set on the fact that it was the city pipes because the random plumber said so. So I took the job of finding a plumber into my own hands. When the pipes unfroze on Sunday, I discovered a new, bigger leak in the same bathroom on the adjacent wall and the previous issue behind the sink had somehow "fixed itself". There was now only one clear leak spewing out of the wall and puddling in the corner of the bathroom. Given it was Sunday at around 3-4pm, I called and left a message to Foster's Plumbing & Heating and they called me back within 15 minutes and was able to get someone out here promptly within the next hour. Jacob was our plumber - he was able to diagnose the problem pipe within about 5 minutes. After Jacob, quickly and efficiently fixed the pipe that was causing the puddle in our bathroom I explained to him what the original issue was behind/under the sink and that somehow it's not leaking anymore. After explaining this to Jacob, he was able also to find the original burst pipe from day 1 behind the sink (it was still frozen, so it didn't fix itself) and fix that pipe promptly as well. I am VERY appreciative and thankful for this company and employee! You guys are the best! Thank you SO much!
The two technicians I've worked with are awesome BUT the problem has been since day one that Fosters all work in the office and they have been rude, given incorrect information, messed several things up and caused many a headache since day one of have a brand new unit put in. I took the time to write a letter with full details and even the techs were aware of everything that happened but Mr. Foster did not seem to care at all b/c it was his wife answering the phone and giving the very poor customer service. It's been a bad situation ever since. When a business man does not care about the customer service that is being given and allows these problems to continue simply because it is his wife...I'd run from that company. It has been a headache...trust me. I feel bad for the two techs because you have to go thru the Foster women to get to the techs. Had I known what I do now I never would have gone to them.
We have called on Foster P&H several times over the last 6 years and every time we receive EXCELLENT service. The appointment is always scheduled quickly, as promised they call right before they arrive and the technicians are always extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They always give us several options for repair and work with us to decide what's best for our situation and budget.
I had an emergency with our heat pump & Foster responded immediately to restore our comfort. During the recent Christmas Holiday we had both 1) family in from out of town & 2) a big cold front visiting our home in Midlothian VA. Our experience with Foster Plumbing & Heating was extremely positive. They promptly dispatched a technician, he arrived in under an hour, he was both knowledgable and courteous. The heat was back on in less than 30 minutes of his arrival & the rates were very reasonable. They even called back after to make sure that we were satisfied with the work & didn't need anythng else. Highly recommended!
We began having problems with both the HVAC equipment and plumbing system in our new home due to some less than stellar install work from the original contractors as it turned out. Having heard good things about Foster P&H we gave them a call and are glad we did. Their service team handled our problems professionally, efficiently, and in a very consultative manner. There could not have been a better job done.
We found the staff at Foster Plumbing and Heating to be very reliable. They gave us lots of information to be able to make decisions about our Heating and AC needs. When our new equipment was installed, the staff educated us on how to keep it running efficiently.
