Short Visit

This was my second appointment with Dermatology Assoc. of Va., with my last one five years ago. I had last seen Dr. Spadafora, 5 years ago, but this time I elected to see a Dr. at Johnston-Willis which is closer for me, and Dr. Spadafora was now located at other offices.

Well, the examination portion of the visit took all of 5 minutes with Dr. Chris Aleman, who was in a big hurry it seemed. This "total body" review was done in two minutes. My specific "rash" problem due to low humidlty dryness was addressed with a new prescription. However, I came away feeling rushed and not sure i had covered all my concerns; just a real rush job. Next time I intend to go back to Dr. Spadafora who tends to spend more tome with the patient, unless DAV is rushing all their doctors.

The worst health care experience of my life.

I saw Dr. Lawrence Blanchard. During my visit he did not even look at my skin or any of the products I had used previously. He repeatedly spoke over me and became highly agitated when I tried to discuss the problem I was having and what I thought may have caused it. I felt that I was not listened too, and at times even talked down to. He then gave his assistant instructions to write me two prescriptions and left the office. The visit took less than 10 min, which I do not feel is adequate.

My experience was VERY positive!

Ok - the other post seems very disgruntled! I actually can say the opposite of this office. I saw a Dr. who was educated, professional, adn responsive to my needs. Not only did we work around my schedule to have a very ugly cyst removed, but the Dr. wanted to be sure to help me make certain that the procedure would covered by insurance. The Dr. took more time then she had me pencield in for, and did not rush. The Dr. talked to me the whole time about what she was doing, and what to expect. Please don't judge this office by one bad experience. The staff was very nice to me and my husband and I reccomend the all the time. I have no affiliations with this company other than a patient.

I definately would not suggest anyone use this office. There is only one thing they are concerned about and that is gouging your insurance company and holding their hands out for your co-pay.

I would be amazed if any one patient has been allowed more than 3 minutes with any doctor in the practice unless you have made a ""stage 2"" appointment.

I made my appointment and took off work an 1 1/2 early to be there on time. I saw Dr. Johnson for a skin rash as well as some bumps on my face that needed to be removed. She told me I could make another appointment to have the bumps removed because it sometimes took up to 1/2 hour to remove the bumps.

First of all, I've had that same procedure done in that same office twice before. It takes maybe 5 or 6 minutes. Second of all, She had only spent less than three minutes with me to begin with. So if she can't afford to spend a total of 8 or 9 minutes for one patient when I took off 1 1/2 hrs to go there to begin with then there must be a problem.

I was told I needed to make one appt to follow up for my skin rash and another for removing the bumps. I said I would like 1 appt for both. They could not accomodate me. So I said forget the follow up for the skin rash just make the 1 appt for removing the bumps. I was then told I would need to be seen for the bumps again before I make the appt to have them removed.

This is nothing but a way to rip off the insurance companies and me for my co-pay. Every partner in that office should be ashamed of themselves. I can assure you this will be reported to the Better Business Assoc., 12 on your side, and the Medical Board.

I realize there is a shortage of dermatologists in this city and everyone knows there is a 3 month wait to see a dermatologist but I do not see where anyone should continue to throw their hard earned money into the hands of these theives!!
