Lived in one of the apartments of Dickson Properties for 4 years. We were very happy there! Only moved because we were leaving RVA. Great location, very very reasonable rent, and any maintenance issues were usually solved by the next day. Their buildings are older so the winters can be a little hard on your utility bill, but we got a space heater which really cut down our bill! Got our full security deposit back as well. Honestly, if you are act like an adult and not a young college student (i.e take care of the place, pay your rent, and have reasonable expectations) you will be totally happy with this company! Would do it again.
Nice people at first, now I can't wait until my lease ends. If you are looking to rent from them save your self and don't. They care nothing about your health. I submitted something for pest control and still have not gotten anything back from them. If I could break my lease and move I would.

Who do you complain to about an IDOT at 3609 Chamberlayne Ave Apt B-10 when MGT. won't do any thing about (LOUD LOUD) music all hours of the night Walls vibrating from (LOUD BASS) have made numerous complaints/FYI-Mgt. has no concern for tenant's privacy/ or concerned with the fact the IDOT is a Drug Dealer. You'd think they'd want to get this type of trash out of their complex, but no they don't have to live here and put up with this type of (TRASH) . FYI- they don't care as long as their getting their pay check/apparently they don't care about their tenants or the children they put at risk by letting this type of person access to the complex just for another $buck. Guarantee if they and their children had to live here. It would not happen in anyone's life time.
My suit case was lost. We were on a 3 hour layover in Richmond VA. The bus was sent for cleaning; we were given boarding passes because we were returning to the same bus. We were advised to leave our personal bags on the bus. After 3 hours and when we were called to returned to the bus, the staff had loaded the bus with new passengers. the bus was loaded already. Many passengers were advised to take their belongings and board another bus. This was the worse debacle I've seen in my entire life. And don't waste your time trying to reach a supervisor, the terminal or district manager because they are on vacation 24/7, and don't return phone calls. I guess that's why everything is in such a mess. No management staff during the week days or weekends either. For four days I've tried to reach the supervisor, district manager, and terminal manager at the 42nd Street bus terminal in NYC; made several calls and visited 3 times during the day and night hours to no avail. Utterly despicable.
If only I could give less than one star, I would. I warn anyone looking to rent from Atlantic Beacon. The company does not care about the health and safety of their tenants. The staff was very nice and helpful in the beginning. After I moved in their attitude changed, they became rude and nasty. I would submit my maintenance request and would go unanswered for 3 to 6 months with out repair. I had a non working kitchen sink, it took them 2 months to fix it. I had to use a bucket to wash my dishes, until they finally came to fixed it. I have reported when I moved there, they were roaches on the premises, no one never came to extreminate them. I have been here for years and have to use my own money to try to treat the problem. I have a leak under my kitchen sink for over 6 months they still haven't fixed it, now there's mold. I have laundry list of repairs that, has been gone unrepaired for years. I hope this helps anyone, who is contemplating renting through them.
I have experience the worse ride ever with James river transportation the seat I purchased was a damage seat belt that poke me all the way to and from the casino.the inspector could have done a better job with inspection the bus who want to pay money for a very uncomfortable chair that cause you pain the whole entire time .here is a picture of the seat 33 ,on bus 242 on April ,30,2016.
