We ordered a new dishwasher from Home depot, in which was defective. So, the delivery guys informed me to call Home depot to expedite another delivery date for a new dishwasher. Unfortunately, the delivery team did NOT reinstall my old dishwasher in which caused water damage under my sink. A Mid Inc. rep came out to view the damage caused by their questionable delivery team, agreed to pay for $958.00 damage that our Insurance company quoted $1908.55. They have NOT returned my call or email. We even called Mid Inc. headquarters with NO reply. Home depot disavowed any responsibility and washed their hands, and basically has not helped to resolve this issue. Home depot has lost another customer to LOWES thanks to John and the unprofessional contractors. It's soo difficult to find competent and professional help these days...
We ordered an electric clothes dryer through the Home Depot website for home delivery. The dryer was delivered without crucial parts, including the vent and the power cord, so the delivery people were unable to install it. I immediately called the customer service line to fix this. I spent an hour on the phone, was transferred to three different people, and had to explain my problem again each time. I was finally assured that the delivery firm had made a mistake and that they would be in touch again shortly to fix it. I waited until the end of the day and heard nothing.Today, my wife spent another two hours on the phone, again explaining the problem to several different people. On several attempts, the phone rang and rang without any answer. She was finally told that we had to pay another $30 before an installation could be scheduled --- and that even then it would take another week!So far, the response has been uniformly incompetent and unsympathetic --- and a huge waste of time. We're still waiting to get our dryer hooked up.
Walter was our contact person. He was professional and very pleasant to work with. He and Cory loaded the truck quickly, taking care to wrap pieces. Cory and Terry took the truck for the 90 minute trip down to Newport News. They unloaded the truck promptly and efficiently. There was no breakage or damage. They took care when lifting even the heaviest pieces up the stairs to the second story. Our family was very impressed with how polite everyone was. The quote for moving was not the least expensive, but we felt that the service we received made the difference well worth it. We would definitely recommend going with Kustom Moving.
THE WORST EVER!!!!!! FIRST THEY WERE AN HR LATE. THEN THEY BROKE MY MIRROR DRESSER AND THE LAMPS. THEN THE LEFT ALL THE MOVING PAPER AND TRASH ALL OVER MY YARD. TOOK THE HENGES OFF THE DOOR AND DIDNT PUT THE DOOR BACK ON. THEN THEY CHARGED A 12% FUEL CHARGE TO MY BILL WHICH MADE MY TOTAL 900.00 AFTER THE OPERATIONS MANAGER QUOTED ME SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK IF U WANT UR FURNITURE BROKE UP.
TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!! I encourage other dissatisfied folks to contact me for joint lawsuit ASAP!! Totally inexperienced, lazy, did not even manage to completely load a small amount within 3 hours and left 1/3 of my belongings behind; moved multiple items of furniture I specifically stated not to, causing my former roommate to seek legal action against me; refused to and were unable to figure out how to install mirrors on dressers and barely managed to put a matter as in the end: all furniture was held hostage in the truck for $900 while, once I finally paid, after I was verbally abused by phone by the company owner, I assume Mrs. Parker - she hung up on me when I asked her to identify herself and provide an address for serving papers - the movers escaped into the night leaving a neighbor to move ALL THE FURNITURE INTO PLACE AND ASSEMBLE EVERYTHING. This is the worst delivery company I have ever encountered. I bought a refrigerator and dishwasher through Home Depot, who unfortunately uses this delivery company. Mid Inc has been to our house four times and have yet to get the delivery correct. The first time the refrigerator was badly dented and they informed me that they couldn't install the dishwasher as promised. The second time, they brought the fridge but the ice maker didn't work. They also forgot the dishwasher. The third time they were scheduled to fix the ice maker and deliver the dishwasher, they just didn't show up. The fourth time, they informed me they couldn't disconnect my old dishwasher as promised. When they pulled the fridge out to check the ice maker, they didn't unplug the appliance. They ripped the cord and broke off the plug. I took time off from work for each failed attempt. I strongly suggest avoiding buying anything that is to be delivered by Mid Inc.
I would give them less than one star if I could! Worst moving experience ever. The movers were 3 hours beyond the end of the original window I was given. NOT ONE person called me to let me know, I had to call their office every single time and kept getting the run around. I was scheduled to move between 12-3, the movers did not show up until 6PM! On top of that, I had to call them the day before to even find out what time to expect the movers. I had asked for a morning move a good month before my move date, and the day before was told to expect them in the afternoon. So the movers get there, and are fairly slow, but did an ok job, up until I had paid them when we arrived at my new home. Then one of the movers asked my brother in law to help out because it was getting late! I couldn't believe it, if I wanted my family to help I would not have hired movers in the first place. And then they could not get the elliptical to fit up the stairs and had no clue how to take it apart, my brother in law had to do it and put it back together (very lucky he was there). Overall, a horrible stressful experience, call some one else. Management seems to be a mess and they do not communicate what so ever to their customers. They sure where quick to call me when I filled out the original information form..that's the only time you can expect a call from them.
I wonder how Kustom Moving is still in business. I had an extremely bad experience with KM. They gave me a very good low estimate for moving. Walter, who was my contact at KM, spoke well in the beginning. However, he is extremely unprofessional and rude. Firstly, he said he will give me boxes for "free" for packing. He delayed bringing me the boxes by ONE full day, and he did not remember until I called him a few times to ask for the boxes. Then he came 2.5hrs late for loading. I had to scramble for packing and missed some appointments because he was late. Then he bullied me into paying $50 extra for being "late" at my new location, although legally I did not owe him a single penny more than what we had already agreed upon. I had the receipt which he signed showing how much I owed him upon delivery. He told me his guys would not start unloading unless I paid him $100 extra for being 1hr "late". Seeing that I was not buckling down, but that I had no choice, he started bargaining, and settled for $50 extra. I would recommend staying away from Kustom Moving. They have a C- rating on BBB. I should have known better.
DO NOT believe the sales pitch....Jim gave us a quote and said "it will not cost more than this, it may even cost less." Then we get the bill and it is $300 more. I called. The manager and they said they do not do flat rates, which may be true, but if it is the salesman lied to us. They will take advantage of your stress to get you to believe a false sales pitch and over charge.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY! ALL of my big pieces are RUININED! They moved my stuff in June from VA to Nashville & it's now October & they are refusing to pay for HALF of the repairs needed to fix my furniture. They also quoted me 3K to move & the final total was 4.5K. I explained every piece I needed to move & they could not explain the extra 1.5K jump in price. I also believe they DO NOT do background checks on the movers! I didn't want criminals in my home but couldn't prove it. LEARN FROM ME & STAY AWAY!

Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.
