As we returned home, after being away for a few weeks, we discovered 5 rooms of our home had flooded due to a severe leak. We felt overwhelmed with the aspect of remodeling. That's when LORI TILLEY came to our rescue. Her friendliness, expertise, professionalism, product knowledge, patience, ability to listen and genuine concern helped us tremendously in designing our kitchen remodel. In this day and time, it's such a blessing to find a large company who truly cares for their customers -- not just in what they say but in how they show it! Lori patiently "went the extra mile" as we struggled over colors, cabinets choices, etc. but we never dreamed how much until the store was about to close. Knowing her kitchen design co-worker had left about the time we arrived, I thanked her for her being so kind and helping us even though I suspected she may have stayed alittle late. To our complete surprise, she said she was actually suppose to leave two hours earlier! Her body language, her mood, her tone, her effort never once gave us the impression that she needed to leave! I highly recommend Seconds & Surplus not only for their vast selection, their prices, but for the way they care and treat their customers.
This place is THE BEST. We recently purchased a home with an unfinished patio and knew we wanted to tile it. After lots of research and visiting several other stores, we stumbled across Seconds & Surplus. They have not only the best prices but a huge selection. Sharon Kellerhouse was extremely helpful, even after we asked her 1000 questions and came back to the store three more times. We were so happy with our decision to use them. Also, we got lots of great ideas for future updates to our new home just by walking by their displays. Go to Seconds & Surplus because you will overpay and miss out on some great customer service if you don't!
S&S gives the impression you can save money but what a nightmare to work with, even with their finance company which was a whole other story and should have been a sign to go elsewhere but like everything else we found with S&S, they don't care. Employee "L" we found out later has a reputation for being an idiot and messing things up. Our order was placed for kitchen cabinets with her at the beginning of last Nov. Expecting a 3-4 week turnaround we were surprised to hear her say it would not be done until the week of Christmas. Our Contractor called S&S manager and we were told they would see what they could do to speed it up. Fine, even though we knew nothing would happen (and we were right). Right after Christmas, a call was made to find out where our cabinets were, "L" said it would be mid January and that she never told us it would be Dec, even though she told us and our contractor the same thing, just denials no apology and through the process never taking any responsibility. Eventually the cabinets came in and they were wrong. The one thing we told her we wanted was easy close cabinets and drawers, none were done correctly (she blamed our contractor stating he approved it, contractor never gave any such approval). One of the cabinets wasn't even close to a fit so our contractor had to recut and fix the cabinet we just paid for. L and the management were not concerned and never was there an apology or an effort to correct their horrible customer service. In fact one of the frosted glass cabinets was scratched and they were to replace it, a month later we called to get a status and were told by "L", "Oh I forgot". Again no apologies or efforts to make amends. This was our first and last time using S&S. I am appalled at the horrible staff working there and the fact that other people know who we are talking about says a lot about how poorly managed this store is, apparently this employee has a reputation for bad service and nothing has been done about it. You would think with such a mess made by their employee, management would have at some point reached out to at least apologize. The cost would have been worth it for good service and a good product (which we got neither) but what little if any savings might have been made in using them was not worth the long frustrating process. Now I know why so many people only shop at S&S once. Save yourself the frustration and don't do it.

would not recommend this business for several reasons:
1. they will not allow returns of any kind. Nothing. You will get store credit . I saw a woman change her mind , about 1 minute after handing them her charge card, when she realized that the bath vanity did not have real drawers. They said, no, it is yours. The dollar is king here.
2. The owner/manager will not stand behind his products. The kitchen design team are all nice people, but beware!! The owner will not allow them to go out to a kitchen site more than one visit. this makes it impossible for them to get the order perfect. The owner, richard parker, says it is too costly.
what? I ordered over 20K worth of kitchen cabinets, and the gas is too costly?? I had at least 10 MAJOR mistakes with my cabinets. not small things, I mean , like a cabinet was missing. The refrigerator cabinet was 3"" too small. The corner cabinet would not fit in the corner. $900 worth of top molding that could not possibly work with my ceiling. and so on. There were numerous delays, because of these mistakes. Parker would not fix these problems, and i ended up having to pay EXTRA to have some cabinets remade.
Do not go there, unless you want to pay more than you should, and you enjoy stomach ulcers. He charges full price for a Custom Design Service, but he is actually giving you a Do It Yourself Kitchen. He will not even allow employees to help you load the cabinets onto your truck. Really, no kidding.
