I have been a regular customer of Hanabi for years, even on a first name basis with the chefs and the son of the owner. Mostly continued to go here out of convenience, sushi and service is so-so. During this time I had noticed the bathroom door, light switch and floor was always filthy. I had never bothered to say anything because I did not want to embarrass them in front of customers. So yesterday I stopped in for an early dinner, and the guys were there alone, no customers. After using the filthy bathroom, I decided today would be a good time to point out the door, light switch and floor were dirty. So I politely showed the host the filth, and expected he would agree to its filth and promise to clean before next time, being as I am a regular customer. But no, to my amazement, he immediately became defensive, accused me of having a bad day, saying its only a door, and he cleans it every day, and then suggested I use a different sushi bar! Well, you don't have to tell me twice that you are not interested in my business, so I agreed and left. They must have lots of money so don't waste your time going here, they don't appreciate their customers and have a dirty bathroom.
