I went into lemongrass on my lunch break and asked if they had egg drop soup, they said yes and showed me on the menu where it was. I ordered the soup to-go and the male server that was helping me repeated back "egg drop soup?" and I said yup! My soup came in a big container and was all wrapped up, so I didn't unwrap it until I got back to the office. Once I unwrapped my soup, I immediately realized what I had received was definitely not egg drop soup but some weird red fish and cob soup. I looked at my receipt and sure enough it said "fish and cob soup." I called up the restaurant and told them that I had ordered egg drop soup but I had received something else, the man on the phone was the server who had helped me in the restaurant. He informed me that when I ordered my soup I had pointed at the menu to "fish n cob" the soup that was right above egg drop and that’s why he gave me that. But I kindly argued with him and said but I said egg drop and you had confirmed it back to me. He started to get rude as was like well what do you want? I said I just want the egg drop soup, so can I come back and exchange them. The guy said sure give them 10-15 minutes. When I came back with the wrong soup in hand, I asked if I could the difference because they had actually charged me more for the wrong soup (I realize I’m at fault for not checking the receipt in the first place before leaving the restaurant). The guy kept getting angry with me because he couldn't figure what the difference was between the 2 soups was and I used to work in the food industry so I know how important it is to have your till correct. He handed me like 50 cents and I was like isn't there tax? The guy continued to yell at me because he couldn't figure out the tax and kept trying to ask me what the difference was and I was like can’t you figure it out on your computer? He eventually ended up throwing a dollar at me over the counter and asked if I was happy now. This of course pissed me off so I said screw it just charge my card back and forget about the damn soup. So they go to charge my card back, and I had previously left a tip, and they were about to not credit me back for the tip and I was like oh hell no…. In all, they had horrible customer service, maybe it was a language barrier situation, but when I say I want something, and you repeat and confirm it back to me, why in the world would you give me something else?
I have had other co-workers go in there since then and they have all complained that the service is slow considering there weren't many people in there and all they wanted was some pho... they're comments were "how long does it take to put some noodles in a bowl and throw some broth on it?"
