After reading the reviews and having a great deal of trouble setting up my warranty appointment I finally agreed to have service west fix my tv. What a fantastic surprise.... The service technician was a bit late, but called and was on his way. When he arrived he fixed my tv within 20 minutes total. He was very pleasant, professional, and efficient. I must say my experience would have been five stars if not for the missteps in setting up the appointment. I am happy to supply service west with a very positive review they deserve it from my appointment.

There should be an option for ...

There should be an option for ZERO Stars. I should have listened to everyone below, however I wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves. I even told them that they had bad reviews and they just shrugged their shoulders. HHHMMM. I should have took my tv out of the repair center right then. I needed my tv back in a certain time frame and I had to call numerous times for status. Most of the time, I had to leave messages with no return call. When I did get a hold of them, I heard we are waiting for the part blah blah blah. I kept asking when will you find out. The answer I got was well, we emailed them and they have not emailed back. OK, Customer Service is not ROCKET SCIENCE. There is an item called a PHONE. Pick up the phone and call the vendor and say, I have a customer who needs this part ASAP because they are relocating, can you rush it? It's that simple. If they say no, or it can't happen, then pick up that item called a PHONE and call the customer and say - we are sorry but we are not going to be able to get the part in the time you need. All I wanted was communication. The worst customer experience I have EVER dealt with. NO ONE I mean NO ONE should take any electronic to Service West. Do NOT give them a chance. I should not have!

STOP! Read this before you go to service west

if I cud, I wud give this company ZERO stars! This place is the worst business in town. We took our LCD TV in for repair in Feb 2011 and have NOT received it back yet. It's now July 2011! $40 just to tell us that it will cost 400 to fix. We gladly gave them the money because we don't know how to repair TVs. However, I've called twice asking for the status and get the run around... "the part must be on back order, let me check." no return call. Or, "I'm not sure, let me check." no return call. We are going to pick up our TV tomorrow, assuming it's still there in all the rubble of crap. The store is a complete mess and the fat, rude girl at the front counter should not deal with the public in any way. I may even call the better business bureau. They should not be in business! Whatever you do, don't go to Servicw West!

THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THEM. I PRACTICALLY GAVE THEM MY TV. I TOLD THEM TO DISPOSED MY TV BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR IT. A MONTH LATER I WENT BACK IN THEIR SHOP AND FOUND MY TV FOR SALE FOR A LOT LESS THAN THE REPAIR COST. NO WONDER THEY HAVE MORE TV'S FOR SALE THAN SEARS DEPT. STORE

Their name should be SERVICE WORST

It took them almost 4 months to replace a power supply on a 9 month old LCD. Within a year the same problem reoccured.

After calling them repeatedly for over two months to get them to commit to a service call and not getting even the courtesy of a reply I gave up.

They are without doubt the worst service company I have ever dealt with IN MY LIFE!!!!

Needless to say I will never do business with them and will tell everyone I can how bad they are. The do not deserve to be in business.

They Suck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't give them 1 star.... Sony.com recommends them as a service repair shop... Take your Sony somewhere else. They said it would take 1 week to fix my "60 rear projection TV with Sony replacement parts sent by Sony but it took over a month (no TV thru Thanksgiving) and said it was Sony's fault for taking to long to send them the parts. I called Sony and they tracked the parts and told me they were delivered and signed for. Turns out Service West had them all along and it was "misplaced" in their shop.... ALSO.. before considering them you should check out their unorganized mess of a showroom and shop they have.... what a mess. I was there today.12.30.09

My rear projection tv bulb went out today. Called them for a price... $285 I told the lady on the phone you can get them online for $150 shipped to your door....

Shop around people... there are good repair shops out there... just not Service West.

$40.00 OR $300.00?????

THE DIAGNOSIS IS $40.00 FOR THE TECHS TO TAKE THE UNIT AND TEST IT TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG. THAT INCLUDES LOOKING UP AND TRACING PARTS FOR THE POSSIBLE REPAIR. SOME TIMES THIS CAN TAKE HOURS. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR T THE DEALER FOR A PROBLEM WITH MY KEYS IT WAS $150.00 FOR THEM TO TELL ME IT WOULD COST $300.00 AND THAT THE $150.00 DID NOT APPLY TO THE REPAIR COST.. I WOULD BE GLAD TO PAY $40.00 AND STILL HAVE IT APPLY IF IT COULD BE FIXED. I SPENT 5 DAYS IN A RENTAL CAR ( ANOTHER $125.00) JUST TO FIND OUT THAT MY CAR COULD NOT BE FIXED. SOME TIMES THATS HOW IT GOES. WE ALL HOPE FOR THE BEST...

Terrible Liars/Customer Service

We had a warranty from a retail store which "Service" West does business for. The night before "Service" West came to our house they call and asked what the problem was. My wife told them that the bulb in our T.V. went out and needed to be relplaced. The next day, they showed up while my wife was at work. They called my wife and when she arrived one "technician" had to wake the other "technician" just to come inside and look at the T.V. They took the bulb out and said "Yeah it is the bulb, but we did not bring one with us. We can come back tomorrow and fix it."

Well they never showed up. My wife called "Services" West and they said that they had to order the bulb because it was not in stock and that they would be able to fix it sometime next week. Oh, by the way today was thursday. Well, I called and asked if Sevice West carried replacement bulbs and gave them the model number of my T.V. Sure enough they had some in stock and gave me a price of $336.50. I told the lady on the phone thank you for her help and hung up.

My wife called "Service" West back and told them what just happen, and they tried to say it was miscomunication. After my wife explained to them that they just flat out lied, the nice lady said "Well anyways the warranty does not cover that". Oh tha is funny, becuase it covered the bulb replacement the day before, but the sleepy guys just forgot to bring it. As I was listening, the lady started to argue with my wife about the warranty. My wife told her that I am looking directley at it and it says, bulb replacment is covered. My wife even offered to fax it to her so she could read it for herself. After this nice display of customer servie, I called the retail store and told them all of this and they said yes the warranty definatley covers the bulb replacement and that they would call and look in to the issues with "Service" West.

If I were the owners I would take a serious look at who I hire. There are plenty of people out there who need jobs, that in my opinion, would do this business a must greater sercvies than it's current employees. The "technicians", and the lady on the phone reflect the leadership, which I am guessing is the owner. If you want you employees treating customers like this, in long run it does not effect them, it effects you.

Overall
poor customer service

We took our TV in and waited patiently - we were told about 4 days and they'd call us to let us know what the problem was or if it was fixable. A week and a half later, still no call - I called them. I got a very vague explanation as to what was wrong with it (basically, it was trash now). They would dispose of it for us (which was fine)... but I was upset by the poor communication and vague/uninterested explanation (we could have gotten a new TV in the mean time).

I also have to say that paying $40 just to be told the TV was trash (it was only about 6-7 years old) was kind of excessive too... that's just my opinion though - I don't know what their costs of diagnosing the problem might have been.

THEY ARE CROOKS!

Service West picked up my TV on 2/13/08 to replace a thermal sensor kit (for $400!!!), and did not return it until 5/14/08. When the technician hooked it back up, the picture was very dark so he took out the bulb blew on it, wiped it with his fingers, then wiped it with his shirt and put it back in. He then found out he just had the cables hooked in wrong, and turned on my TV. The picture still looked dark, and he proceeded to tell me he was sure it's dark because the bulb is going out - we just put in a new bulb in January 2008 (one month before they took the TV), and he is now saying it needs a new one!!! They cost about $160 to replace!!!

Well, I checked the TV manual, and it states (on page 16) "AVOID TOUCHING THE FRONT GLASS OF A NEW LAMP AS THIS MAY REDUCE PICTURE QUALITY OR LAMP LIFE". I called Service West and spoke to the owner RICHARD ZHANG, and asked him to replace the lamp because his technician just ruined it, and I paid them $400 to do it! He refused to replace the lamp and says it is our fault the picture is dark, and he sees no way his technician could have made it that way! He also told me that the TV manual is wrong!!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND!
