Turned away for no reservations would have liked try it Good location. But you need a connection
The worst restaurant I have ever visited! “Were you overcharged? Oh, it happens”– I was told when I was calling to the restaurant trying to return nearly 100% of tips the server stole from my credit card. The owner even didn’t say sorry to me and said he was busy and couldn’t return my money! All I wanted was: return my money and hear their apologize (what actually still didn’t happen!). Instead I was treated extremely rude and disrespectful and it was really hard to return my money. The worst experience in my life. If you want to know the whole story, please, read my story-review below.I went to Braisserie St. James with friends, left tips (around 20-25 %). But the server took NOT the total I wrote, but CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD ALMOST TWICE MORE (nearly 100% tips). On a restaurant website I found an e-mail and wrote to Art Farley (probably the owner or a manager of this restaurant), I got an e-mail and was asked to call him. When I called, he even didn’t say sorry to me, but a little argued with me that the amount of tips was written unclear. But everything was written right and the main thing – TOTAL was there, it clears everything. The server should withdraw the total, and she took the total much more than it was written. After some time talking he said he will return this extra money the server took to my card.1 day later I got an e-mail from Art, that he couldn’t do it, because was busy. He asked to call the restaurant again and ask Jamie, said she will credit me the money, also he suggested me to go by and pick it up!(And I don’t live directly near the restaurant, so it means I should leave all my plans just to drive and pick up this money?)I called the restaurant at that day several times, but nobody picked up. And I am working, can’t sit the whole day and try to reach them.So I was calling this restaurant nearly 1 week! When I called and the server asked the reason I want to talk to Art, I started to explain, but she interrupted me with words “Were you overcharged? Oh, it happens”.Every time I called and asked to speak with Art or Jamie, the server asked my name, after I introduced myself the person told that Art is unavailable and Jamie is not in the restaurant. And this situation repeated every day.I called again and again every day, then asked how to reach somebody and return my money, and they gave me the fake number of Jamie. I called many times and was told it doesn’t exist... after I told it to the server, she left for some time (probably asked what to answer me?) and said to dial 1 before the number. For sure, it didn’t work either and I couldn’t reach anybody.I was writing e-mails to Art every day, but he didn’t answer anymore.Almost a week later I wrote again to both, Art and Jamie, nobody replied, but after some time the server called me and said that I was told long time ago that I can come and pick up the money in the restaurant..... what was totally not true, because I was told (and it’s written by Art in my e-mail and saved), that Jamie will credit me money back to my credit card. And as always nobody (especially Art Farley) didn’t even say sorry, but treated me really bad. I have never been treated so bad in my life! Not only didn’t want to return money, but ignored me and said they are busy to return my money ...So if I don’t come there, they won’t return me anything.... One day I left my business and came to the restaurant. I was waiting 20 minutes or more trying to get it!First they tried to find Art, then I was waiting for him to return my money to the card. And after he came to me with my card in his had, his words were: “Here is your card”. He gave me my card quickly and left immediately. That’s it. No sorry, no greeting as saying “hi” at least, nothing!I have never experienced so much rudeness and disrespect. Definitely, I won’t come back.
Real good food & service.
