The car itself was nice, but a "full size" means a Ford Fusion. We were in Reno, driving to Lake Tahoe, where we needed chains on our tires after the first day because we got hit with a blizzard. However, you can't put chains on a Ford Fusion according to our research due to the size of the Fusion's wheel well. We were unable to drive the rental car all week due to the 2-wheel drive vehicle which was not equipped for the terrain. It's meant for city driving. There were a few stains in the vehicle, but it was in okay condition aesthetically. 15 minutes after we drove off from the rental car pick-up, the check-engine light came on. Luckily because we couldn't drive it much in the snow/icy terrain, we didn't worry too much about it. We eventually had to pay $330 just for the wrecker to tow us off the mountain because our rental would not safely drive on the icy roads and we had to get back to Reno for our flight. The car overall would have been decent for city driving, but I wish Alamo would have mentioned the chain-requirement that Reno/Tahoe has before we drove off into a very scary week.
The airport Staff on my previous experience was young, arrogant, and poorly trained4th St. called the day before to "confirm", I arrived & there was a family trying to book a car using their smartphone and i had to wait My reserved vehicle was "at the shop" and I needed to get going!I was grudgingly given an uncleaned car with a half-tank of gas.I discussed these inconveniences with the agent upon return, with a Customer Service phone rep, and got a call from a "regional" supervisor in Las Vegas. Eventually, I was offered a Free Rental and i accepted. i think they were repentant because the 'whatever' car had a bedbug in the uncleaned area, trunk had sand, seat had a soda and some matches, ciggie wrapper (nonsmoking?)Bedbug bit me. Yes, this is true. This is RENO.Enterprise Plus failed to award Bonus Points I earned before all this, They still Offer me 150 points in e-mails.this is payback. Enterprise is "lost in cyber space', mostly.
We rented a minivan for a family trip to the Nationak Parks. The only reason I did not give 5 stars wad because of the price gouging to dissuade people from taking them to Burning Man. The price was far above that for luxury and specialty car - double what it should have been and a threatened $350 cleaning fee. However, putting that aside, the front desk and lot staff were professional and pleasant, and worked hard to give us the vehicle we wanted. The Dodge Grand Caravan R/T had 4000 miles, was well equiped and very clean. Return was quick and easy. We have not had a bad experience with Enterprise and will continue to gravitare to them.
Upon arrival to pick up the van we rented, we were told that the van was being cleaned and it would be ready shortly. Therefore, we had to wait (my 2 elderly parents, 2 year old and husband) in the cold for about 10 minutes until one of the employees began offering us alternate vehicles that didn't meet our needs. Finally he pointed to a van parked along the side and said we could take that one, which is exactly what we had wanted. I complained to the manager and he gave us a discount so I am happy with the resolution.
On Jan. 14, 2017 I rented an SUV. I asked for a mid size but when I got there I was given a full size Ford Explorer. Very nice vehicle. The only problem was the windshield washer did not work. I bought fluid and put it into the vehicle but it still did not work. The rear wiper worked fine. This and there was no snow brush in the vehicle. Otherwise I would have no problem renting from Enterprise again...
Was greeted with a grunt and zero eye contact. Asked my wife "what did he say?" My wife tells me he said "Just a minute." When it was "our turn" we got normal interactions. We got one of two cars available in Emerald aisle: Chrysler 300 or Explorer. We took the SUV. It had a faint smell of cigars. Otherwise everything was the typical excellent I've come to expect from National.
First time renting in Reno so my evaluation may not be fair. I am use to larger airports where they have the Emerald Aisle selection. In Reno you go to an office in the car area, select a car then they fill out the paperwork which was much more cumbersome and time consuming.
Everyone was pleasant & helpful. It is very annoying, however, NOT to get the car one reserves. Most of the cars available to any car rental company are disappointing so I always pick the least offensive auto. To find out that it is not available really irks me
As easy as it gets! Very short wait to pick up car, friendly and helpful staff, no hard sell for extras. Easy return, with a helpful ride given back to my office. Weekend price deal being offered right now cannot be beat.
Everyone there is always friendly, professional and will always answer your questions; if they are not sure of the answer they will always double check! The pick service is always the best and drop off is the greatest!
