I tried Papa Johns pizza for the 1st time and was impressed! I stayed at the Peppermill for Hot August Nights and went on-line to order pizza and saw all of their coupons and noticed they delivered so my family and I thought we'd try them out. Best pizza we ever had! Even my kids couldn't stop talking about it! They put a little cup of garlic butter in every pizza we ordered and we dipped our crust in it and it was delicious! Like a bonus for the pizza. They had something for everybody, speciallty pizza for me with the works, pepperoni for the kids, heck we even got salad, wings, sodas and desert and I was able to order it on-line and pay with my credit card without leaving my room or talking with anyone! How great is that! If you haven't tried them already you should, I know I will be looking for them from now on when I go out of town! I wish we had one in Fresno. Thanks Papa Johns!
This is a really great place, the food is wonderful, the ambiance is authentic. The first time I dined here, in about 30 years, I was short on cash. They don't take plastic and that is my main mode of transaction. After a wonderful lunch I tried to pay with a credit card. That is when I found out that they only deal in cash. I don't carry my check book, most of the time and didn't have it on this particular day. I was short about $11.00. Inez refused to take part of the tab, she just sweetly told me to bring the cash back the next day. So trusting. Well as soon as I could get there the next day, I was, with the cash and a generous tip. I was embarassed but also delighted that there were still folks that would take your word. The people are nice, the food is fantastic and the experience is 2nd to none. Check out some of the names on the walls, you may see someone you know.
We had 3 x-large pizzas there last Saturday afternoon. A gathering of 12 high school wrestlers that were really hungry. We had a Mega Meatza that had pepperoni, andouille sausage, italian sausage, beef crumbles, onions and green bell peppers. The andouille sausage had the kick that made this a favorite. The 2nd one was a hawaiian with jalapenos and the 3rd one was a Thai Chicken with roasted chicken marinated in a thai peanut sauce over a dough brushed with a bangcok plum sauce. The topping also had fresh bean sprouts and slivers of carrots. The kids thought this one was really cool as all they usually eat is cheese and pepperoni. We also had some of their house special Italian Wings and baby back smoked ribs. The atmosphere was great as the buiding is 140 years old and the kids just thought it was great. We'll diffenitely go back as will my wife and I. Sincerly, Sergio Valente
Ever been to Red Rock pizza? Why not? This place rocks. The staff is great. They are the friendliest bunch of people I have ever met. My friend and I visit RR pizza a couple times a week and are always welcomed. The food is great and fresh. I would recommend the pizza. This is some of the best Pizza around. The place is kept clean as well. I do think there are some things they could do to improve business though. If anything I would suggest drink specials and maybe a Karaoke night. It would be great if they were open on Mondays too. Regardless I’m sure my friend and I will be a regular for a long time. This place simply rocks. Give it a shot
I eat at Lamppost Pizza all the time. I love pizza, but this pizza is the best! It's loaded with fresh toppings, it's super cheesy, and the dough is crispy and fluffy- you can actually watch them toss it by hand! Lamppost Pizza not only has great food, but it's a great place to bring groups or have a party. The dining area is really big, and it has a bar on the other side of the restaurant that reminds me of Cheers. And...this place is totally cleaner than any other pizza place I've ever been to! In fact, it's probably one of the cleanest places in town! We go out of our way to get pizza from Lamppost! It really is the best!
Nice place, clean and friendly. But the pizza is horrible!!! When it was Big Guys Pizza it was great pizza. I know it's a different place now under new management but come on... Make me want to eat your pizza too. We always used to go when it was the other pizza, it was sooooooo good. But now that it is Red Rock Road pizza, I went once and the pizza barely had any flavor, the crust tasted like flour and water. I haven't been back. Sorry.
When it comes to good pizza, this is the place to go! They are pricey...but the pizza is worth it. For example a pirates special large pizza is close to $30.00. I know...you are saying thats insane for one pizza...but one slice of this piece of heaven will fill most people up pretty well! And the pizza is pretty big! Or at least it is if you order the original crust. I do however "wish" they would come down in price at least a little.
We tried this pizza place just a few weeks after they first opened..the pizza was just OK. We again went there for a baseball team meeting a few months after they had been opened. Still just OK on the pizza. Prices seemed a tad high. Haven't tried it in a while so I guess I'll have to try again and see if they have perfected their pies yet. The decor was nice. It was clean. Nice to have eating establishments closer to home.
My family loves this place - we find it to be a great place to bring the kids. The pizza is great, though a little pricey unless we bring a coupon, but then we always have leftovers so I guess it works out to be a good deal. We are glad to have a decent pizza place in our neighborhood - to address the other reviewer it always seems clean (certainly cleaner than most), haven't had any problems or concerns.
Lamppost is really good pizza, me and my family go there all the time. Their pizza is kinda expensive if you don't have coupons, but i know on tuesdays you can get a large one topping for like $12! Last time we went I tried the baked pasta, OMG it was great! My hubby had a sub sandwich and said it was delish too! A MUST TRY! and they have coupons in the back of the phone book and stuff! :)
