I've been a subscriber to support.com's Family Plan for about 6 months now and it's the best under $30 investment I've made in a long time. I'm tech savvy enough to be the CIO (or IT guy) for my family... but was very happy to hand that responsibility to support.com. When the printer isn't working because the print spooler is backed up it's support.com that gets the call not me. They've even help me out a few times where I hit tech roadblocks (recently support.com helped me detect and prepare for a dying hard drive swap out).
I also like how support.com has made it really easy to get to them when we need help - we just double-click on the EasySupport software they installed on our computers and we're quickly connected to one of their Solutions Engineers. Also nice that everyone I talk to at support.com is based in the US or Canada.
I didn't know a service like this actually existed!
I had a virus on my computer and needed help trying to get rid of it. I was planning on bringing into a store, but found support.com on yellowpages.com. I called them and they got rid of the virus for me over the internet while my agent talked me through it on the phone. Technology is so amazing these days.
I signed up for a subscription so I don't have to worry about problems like this anymore. I would totally recommend this to people who:
- Can't figure out what's wrong with their computer
- Don't have time to try to fix it themselves
- Don't want to worry about how safe their computer and files are from viruses
- People who think it's a hassle to leave their house to get their computer fixed
