Dr. McAuley was born in Pasadena, California and grew up in Southern California. He joined Dr. John Simpson in 1983 during the exciting, formative years of coronary angioplasty and coronary intervention. Specializing in valvular heart disease and congestive heart failure, Dr. McAuley continues to maintain an active interest in coronary artery disease and general cardiology. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley. He has served on the Board of Directors of Shelter Network, an organization dedicated to assisting homeless families and individuals in their efforts to find permanent jobs and housing in our community. In his spare time, Dr. McAuley enjoys writing screenplays, mountain biking, playing electric violin, cooking, and backpacking in the Sierras with his family. He can also be found speycasting for steelhead on Western rivers and flyfishing for bonefish and tarpon in tropical waters.
