I've been a regular customer of the Paperback Trader for decades, but not anymore. The new owners have no clue what they're doing. They know nothing about books or how to organize them (seriously, they are utterly confused about things like genres). But worst of all is the contempt they have for their customers. Today was my last visit. Something happened that's happened twice before. I stood at the counter for several minutes while the woman working there stood on the other side of the counter on the phone and simply stared at me. Not so much as a, "Hi, I'll be with you in a moment." Just talking and staring. Today, it was the owner Lori (not sure about the spelling). This is how the OWNER treats the customers. I strongly recommend going to Cal's Books or even out of town. They do not deserve your business, and as far as I can tell, they don't want it.
Decent prices, it's like hunting for treasure...I love this bookstore !
allway greAT SERves. super cheap book and mag,s.
I have always received the most curteous help in finding books I want. Carl even suggests different authors I might enjoy based on what I have purchased from his bookstore! His prices for popular books is any where from $1.50-$3.50 and he always checks the books I bring in the store really well so I know when I buy a book from Cal's Books that I am getting a book with all its pages and all the books there are in excellent condition. I love shopping in Cal's Books and I have him ship to my son who is in prison too. It is by far my favorite bookstore. Sincerely, Janet Sligar
