Excellent Service and a nice family owned business! My boyfriend and I hit a deer in red wing while on vacation and a nice man came and towed my car and let us ride with him back to the shop and then lent us a car for our stay. I recently purchased a vehicle at Redwing Chevrolet and traded in a car. I am not pleased with the transaction and felt compelled to voice my opinion. My wife and I thoroughly researched the Traverses and are pleased with the car so far. However I am very displeased with the trade in price we were given on our trade and the way the trade was handled, especially now that I see that they are currently listing it for, $6,900. The original offer from the salesmen was $2500, which is an insult since they are selling on various sites for between 6k and 9k. We should have left at that point, and I regret not doing so. After spending almost an hour tearing down our car, while avoiding discussing any shortcomings of the Traverse (needs tires, already on its 3rd owner, soft brakes), and leading us to believe that Kelly Blue book was inaccurate on both trade in price and retail, we did begrudgingly agree to $3400 for our trade in.Only to see the car current listing price on their web site is OVER the KBB price. The most upsetting part was the salesmen’s adamant opinion that KBB was “well overpricing” and “very inaccurate” for our trade in after agreeing our trade was in excellent condition. When I brought my concerns up via email, I promptly received a call back from the dealership defending the original deal and trade in price and stating that they had to add $1500 of parts to the car and listed off 2 tires, a bearing, and a battery. I’m not sure where they are buying their parts from, but I hope they were gold plated, in every other shop that’s maybe $400 worth of parts. And again, the salesmen would not address the shortcomings or our new vehicle. While my wife and I do take partial blame for accepting the trade in price, we were both upset over the current retail when out trade in price is taken into account as well as the response to our concerns after the fact. We will not be back to the dealership and will do our best to see that anyone who will listen does the same.
Best service I have ever received! My cars starter took a dive and left me stranded in Red Wing. Midway had me back on the road in an hour, and for an honest price. My thanks go out to everyone at the shop!
