Nocal Wireless is the absolute standard in cell phone service. As a tired, working class single mother, customer service is huge for me. I don't have time for incompetence and have no tolerance for low quality customer care. After hauling my baby in and out of two horrible cellphone dealers in Red Bluff, I begrudgingly accepted the notion that Red Bluff simply wasn't capable of handling my cellular needs. But Norcal Wireless turned things around for me.Norcal wireless blew my mind. I walked into the store with dwindling hopes but was surprisingly refreshed by the vibrant displays and full staff of technicians, who ALL greeted me upon entry with a smile and complete regard to help me asap. I didn't have to drive to Redding afterall. Wow, a real live cell phone store in red Bluff - and real live customer service, smiles and everything. Awesomeness. (Awesomeness is actually a real word, btw.)I am so relieved and grateful for the service I received today. The employee who helped me today was named Lucius, or something like that, and even though he was new to his job, he handled my order with proficiency and I felt relieved to be finally experiencing some competence. My request was to port a Google Voice number, which I admit is an irregular request I'm sure, especially for a new technician, but even still, I was addressed with positivism and respect, and even though the answers weren't obvious to this new technician, who struggled a little during the non-typical signup process - I am appreciative for him taking the time to struggle rather than turning me away like the other stores did. He had a, "I'll figure it out," attitude, which is SO valuable in the work force. He demonstrated absolute, promotable performance. I would have never guessed he was new.In addition, while I was being signed up for my new plan, my tyrannical two-year-old tore up their displays and ran a total muck while I answered the signup questions at the counter. "Don't worry, I have a kid too," was the staff member's response to my noise making child. It's always comforting to know you're not being judged for your child's behavior, especially when you're a single mom without an extra hand. So I give this place an additional star for the extra efforts, the kid friendly environment, and real customer service.
AT&T reps are quick to sell you the latest and greatest new iPhone for a small fortune, however refused to work with me, the customer, on getting it replaced. Sold a defective iPhone 5 and have been without AT&T service for over a week during the holidays. Tried to get AT&T to replace the iPhone and they refused...and referred me to Apple. Apple referred me to the AT&T dealer. I understand they may have store policies, but seriously they need to work with the customer a little.Funny how the agent/supervisor told me he wouldn't have sold me an Iphone anyways and to stick with Android. Not sure what to think of that, since they quickly sold me an Apple phone. Until we get a new AT&T dealer in town, I suppose I will have to travel to Redding/Chico for future phone upgrades. Update: Apple quickly replaced the defective phone. I guess the best news is that I didn't have to work with Nor Cal Wireless!
