I made an appointment with Shar to see a house at 1 PM on a certain day. I got there at 12:50 PM. At 1:05 PM I used my cell phone to call Berkshire Property Management. I said I had an appointment with Shar and was waiting for her. The person said “Okay, I will tell her” and then immediately hung up the phone. At 1:20 I called again and Shar answered. I asked if she was coming to the house and she said no. She said she had left a message on my home phone that day and I didn’t call her back and so she will not keep the appointment.There was no reason why she would have called me since we had already agreed to meet at 1 PM that day. Also, when I got home that day there was a message from Irene at Berkshire Property Management. She said Shar had been at the house at 1 PM and that I didn’t show up for the appointment. That was not true because I was standing on the front porch from 12:50 until 1:20. And while I was there, Shar told me on the phone that she was refusing to go there.So basically, Berkshire Property Management is a company where the staff members are not dependable and they say things that are not true.
Horrible!!!!! Run!!! This company never gets the money right! As a property owner, they did not collect the water bill for 6 months and gave me the run around every month. The first two months I had to call to get our rent check because it didn't come and they said the "must have had the wrong address". They are inept, rude and basically cannot do their job. Do not be fooled by Shar's promises of "taking care of your property like it were her own". My tenants told me they asked for things to be fixed that never got done. The worst part was the runaround EVERY SINGLE MONTH! Having to fight for the proper rent or water bill amount...don't be fooled they ALWAYS got their cut correct. Read other reviews too! I wish I would have.
At first they were kind. They worked with us and everything was fine, but once we moved into one of their units all bets were off! The owner, Craig Binkley, is pushy and ridiculous. He actually thought I was you to make my children drink out of a sippy cup in the kitchen only to save his 'new and most expensive repair', the carpet. I have before we moved in pics of the carpets and new was the last thing they could have been. They have inspections at least once a year which is fantastic I think so they can see the condition of the property, but ya also ridiculous because they only give two days notice which is hard with two kids and working. They let anyone who needs to service the home have keys to get in and make it very clear that they will come whether you are or are not home, which bothers me because we have lots of valuable items. It would be a different story If we could work out a time and date but they don't even give you the option. I honestly can say I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend them or rent from them again!! Can't wait to give our notice!!!
I wish I could give them a ZERO star rating. The customer service of this company is horrible!!! They don't understand who their customer's are, and how to service them. They are out of date in their way of thinking and have horrible communication skills! Sometimes the littlest things communicated can make all the difference. They desperately need more assistance, and to be come more organized!! POOR is the best term of the way they service all their customers. They need to learn to learn that respect needs to be earned and given to get it back.
wish i could give them a LOWER rating!! we are looking to relocate to PA from new england (that would be a hefty 4-5hr drive depending on NYC traffic) and we have young kids (read impossible trip!) we went there and they give you the keys to look around the units (ok never heard of that type of system but it was niceISH) but went later in the afternoon close to closing time when we dropped off the keys and asked if we could do an application later since they were getting ready to leave .. they said sure .. WE TOLD THEM WE WERE OUT OF STATE! so you would think they would have INFORMED US THAT THEY WILL NOT ALLOW US TO DO APPLICATIONS ELECTRONICALLY!! we were looking to move in very soon! THEN they posted and TOLD US the rent is $750 only to find out NO they changed it to $775! ..they said they cant do applications electronically or even work w. us while out of state b.c they need to keep up the "consistency" YET they can post INCONSISTENT rent! ... unfortunately the property we saw we loved and it is perfect for us so i am now working w. a DIFFERENT realtor to try to get into the property b.c NO WAY IN heck am i going to go back to them after how rude and just unpleasant they are! they would rather have an unrented property vs working w. us .. yes we understand they have certain policy however they could at least WORK with us! it totally baffles me that they would rather let it go vacant! what kind of business do they have!? and after experiencing the whole take the keys and check it out i dont like it! you cant ask questions you cant talk about the property .. then when you get to the office they rush you dont talk to you .. instead give their attention to the telephone ... very disappointing .. i would recommend you go to these people only if a gun is to your head and no other option .. very upset over their conduct! (we would rather go into a rental that is not what we are looking for vs going back to them .. i have 2 kids .. so that says a LOT about the treatment we received!)
She is a Crook. She stole money from my wife and I. We asked her to give us an esimate on how much it would cost us to convert our home into a rental property. We proceeded to give her a key in order for her to show it to her handyman, After receiving her feedback, we decided not to rent out property, nor contract with her. She proceeded to move a family into our house without our knowledge, nor any contract or agreement. She charged the family 1200 dollars and pocketed it. We didn't know the house was occupied until the codes department notified us of violations in our "rental." We were obviously shocked to say the least!
