Food is excellent along with the service. It is a shame that place is not larger. Love sitting at the bar and talking to owner and bartenders.

Omg I'm in heaven.... I have disappointed again at so many places in Raleigh from bad service to salty food but wow I'm in heaven thank you for one of the best meal in a lifetime
Don't get the special without asking the price. NO prices listed on the specials menu. Food was good, but when the bill came we learned the scallop and pasta special was $33.99 and the lobster ravioli was $25.99.Just leaves a bad feeling when you get the bill and find outrageous price for a special. Then check the special menu and find no prices listed: -(
Seriously the services suck I drove two hours for this my family got there food and was finished when I got mine 45 minutes later
Italian restaurant in name but not in reality. My friends and I had dinner recently and discovered that a lot of their menu items are not homemade, just frozen foods, reheated. For example: meatballs are not homemade. Cheesecake or Tiramisu isn't either. The Marsala sauce tasted right out of a can, it didn't have neither taste nor smell of wine. This restaurant doesn't even offer a single soup. Furthermore, all their pasta is dry pasta, not homemade. What they make there? Very few things. If we wanted store bough food, we would have stayed home and save a lot of money. All their stuffed pasta is frozen, bought from a supplier. Lasagna is not homemade either. Aside from all that, its expensive. Expect to pay $20 per person, which it won't include wine or dessert, just your meal and tip. If you order wine or desert, then its $30 a person or more. By the way, what's that big screen tv showing sports doing in the middle of the dinning area? Is it an Italian restaurant or a sports bar? Not sure. Some people like this place, that's why we tried it. It seems that kids would like those simple dishes better than adults. For a real Italian meal, or at least a meal made at the restaurant, we'll go somewhere else next time.
I have been here for lunch a handful of times. I have tried only two dishes, the lasagna and the roasted chicken and potatoes. Both entrees were very good except the lasagna seemed like it was 50% sauce and not actual noodles, meat and cheese. The roasted chicken and potatoes were also good but the portions are rather small. I left hungry every time but I did enjoy my food. I haven't been at dinner, so maybe the portions are more reasonable then, as the prices are higher.
The food is excellent. I often take my staff there when I am in town and I never have been disappointed with anything. The lunch lasagna is excellent and so are the soups. I see a fair turnover in wait staff but I guess it might be hard to make good tips as the place is often sparsely occupied. But we all love it and will continue to go back.
I usually don't take time to write a review but the service I received (waiter) was so outstanding that I am taking the time. Out server/waiter's name was Mark M. He was personal, informative, easy to talk with and catered to our individual food needs. He made up for the opposite experience the night before--waiter's name was Andrea
Bella Italia is our family's favorite Italian dinner spot. From the bread to the pizza to the dessert, everything is spot on. Recommendations: Italian wedding soup, white pizza, calamari, lamb. It's a cozy family restaurant atmosphere with good service and consistent food.
Anyone that would write a bad review about Casa San Carlo is obviously related to his X. This chef brings back memories of the many times I visited Italy and my sisters home made pastas, and many other home made authentic Italian recipes . You must of went to the wrong place or like I said related to his X :( Best of the Best Italian food in Raleigh hands down. !!!!!
