Went to The Resale Boutique for my first time today and while there seemed to be a lot of nice stuff, I was not impressed with their customer service. After I asked to be helped by a woman who was working there, she actually answered the company phone (it was a hands-free phone) as we were walking to another area of the store and rather than putting the person on hold or asking them for their contact info to call them back, she continued to have a conversation with them. Speaking as someone who had worked in the customer service/retail industry for many years, it is customer service 101 to always help your customers in person FIRST and to never make a customer wait to be helped if they were first to request it. I pointed to the object that I was interested in buying (a cute, small green and yellow bookcase) and she continued talking to the person on the phone, shook her head "no" (as in it was not for sale), and mouthed the word "sorry" (meaning that it was not for sale). I left immediately with a bad taste in my mouth. I also don't understand why a business would not want someone's money, but they chose to lose the sale and I doubt that I will ever go back.
