I have been going to ROC for 7 years. I LOVE Dr. Isabel. But the office staff can be dreadful. They refused to make an appointment for me due to a billing dispute on my account (that didn't exist), leaving me in pain while I waited for a callback from accounting (never came-I had to call them again). Their front desk left me on hold while they "checked my chart" to determine my case status before making an appointment. Their "24 Hour callbacks" never happen. And not all doctors are as on top of things as Dr. Isabel, who I might add that as great as he is, he's eternally at least 45 minutes behind.

I have been having carpal tunnel-like symptoms and wanted to get a second opinion before proceeding with surgery to have this corrected from my original doctor. I was referrent to the Bone and Joint Surgery Clinic by a co-worker. I called to schedule the appointment and the lady making the appointment had asked why I was coming in, I told her and I came in for my time about 2 days later. I had to wait 45 minutes to even get called back in to the room (that's after the time my appointment was actually schedule for, add the additional 15 minutes that I was there before my scheduled time, and an hour of my day was wasted on nothing). Finally get called back, met with doctor Dr. Burroughs for about 10 minutes (at most). He told me himself that he doesn't specialize in this area (carpal tunnel type issues) and that I need to go back to my other doctor and that I should go ahead with the surgery because 'it couldn't hurt anything'. Oh, and then mentioned that if my original doctor couldn't help me, to come back and see him. Excuse me? That's why i'm here now. If you can't help me now, why would I come back? Anyways, I left very mad and confused as to what the heck just happened (literally, nothing!). I called Dr. Burroughs' billing person to talk about getting my $50 specialist co-pay back. She told me she would send Dr. Burroughs a message requesting this but it would take about a week before she heard back from him. 2.5 weeks later, I called and left a voicemail stating that if she couldn't help me, I'd like to speak with the office manager. A few hours later, this sweet and very polite (yeah right!) office manager calls me back. She sounds like she completely hates what she does and wants nothing to do with helping people. I"ve never been to an office where i felt that I left knowing more than the doctor or that I wanted to just cry out of frustration. I have never requested to get my $ back from any doctor for services they performed. I'm sorry though, nothing was done for me, he kept telling me to go to my original doctor, and I wasted an hour that i had to take off of work to go ther to wait for him, along with the time of the wasted consultation and the drive back to work. Needless to say, the office manager said that she can't refund my money because 'I took up a time slot that he could have seen someone else that would have paid". REALLY!? Way to show what your business is really about. Pathetic and worthless. Highly do not recommend! Horrible attitude and service.
This doctor did shoulder surgery on me. He is hateful and curses at his patients. When I left his office I was more upset than when I went in and I do not upset easily. He ruined my shoulder. If I knew what I know now, this man would have never touched me. So, ever who tells you he is the best they are lying. So think twice before you go to this doctor, you may wind up like me with a bicep muscle that was cut into.
