First, when I had a question about an item on the menu, the one who was taking the order was rude. He told me, ""It's on the menu"". I said it wasn't. He said again with an attitude, ""Yes it is!"" Then he proceeded to tell me I'm wasting his time. I was completely surprised at this exchange. I thought I was the customer, and I'm wasting his time. COMPLETELY Rude! I asked for the manager and he kept hanging up on me each time I called.
RUN!!!! Do not eat from this place. Whoever treats paying customers this way should not be in business.
The one I was ordering from was on Atlantic Ave.

I ordered General Tso, and the guy from the kitchen said ""General Tso!"" and I took the bag and left. I was pleasantly surprised with the briny Wanton soup! It was fresh and homemade with subtle hints of ginger root and celery. Is it bamboo shoots and green onion slices too? It hit the spot. Sorry to the people who got mine!

First I rarely if ever get sick from restaurant food or take out but did so from Wang's. Such a shame since I like the quality and taste. Within 6 hours of eating an order of Msu Shu pork I was quite ill with food poisoning. Having had it many years ago I can attest that that is what it was, Diarrhea, terrible nausea, fever, fatigue and it lasted 2 days. I wished I had checked the Wake County inspection ratings. They can be found at wakedigitalhealthdepartment. com for any eatery. Wangs does not score that high. Please be careful if you choose to get food from there. While it may be an isolated incident, I cannot take a chance and go back.

Please read ******I am not one to bad mouth a business, I like to call a business and ask for them to correct what they did wrong. So I tried to do this first to no avail. So I must put my story out for anyone interested in eating at WANGS KITCHEN on CREEDMOOR RD...my advise, DON'T DO IT!!! My roommate and I ordered two separate meals last night, one was chicken, one was beef from this place and both of us ended up horribly sick to our stomach. We both ended up getting diarrhea. We both wrote it off as eating extra grease for the day. Then this morning, we both seemed to be ok (after I was up on the toilet at 2am with diarrhea), my roommate ate some of the leftovers for lunch and instantly again got sick to her stomach with gas and diarrhea. At this point we realized it was the food we had ordered from WANGS KITCHEN that was BAD. I proceeded to call Wangs kitchen to give them a chance to make it right by at least offering me some kind of partial compensation, at which point I was told I could not be helped by the manager, he said I would need to get some kind of doctors note to advise I had received food poisoning. This I can understand. However, I am not going to pay my doctor $25 to tell me WANGS food was making me sick so I can get $22 back from Wangs Kitchen!! So what’s the next best thing to do, spread the word of my bad experience with WANGS KITCHEN. I have also contacted the health department as well. I wish I would have checked out their ratings…it’s an 89!!! I have kept their menu myself and added a huge note on it so I don’t forget…BAD FOOD, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So my words of advise to you, eat at your own risk at WANGS KITCHEN but make sure you stay home after words cause you gonna need a toilet for the rest of the day!!!

After calling in a lunch order and waiting over an hour with no delivery, we called the restaurant to see what was going on and/or cancel the order. The person who answered the phone informed us that the delivery driver had left half an hour before hand. Living less than five minutes from the restarurant, we told them we wanted to cancel the order if the food arrived cold. When it did finally arrive approximately fifteen minutes later, it was slightly warm; although no amount of heat could have helped the extremely lackluster flavors. Not sure who is choosing to eat here enough to keep them open, but dont submit yourself to this experience. There is MUCH better Chinese in the area

I had placed an order with Wangs and the person who picked up the phone was rude..when I had gotten my order, it was the wrong one and when I called to let them know, I was hung up on...once I finally got a manager on the phone he was not helpful either...i told him to come get his food and not to charge my card...when the delivery guy showed up, he tried to make me take what I had order and would not take NO for an answer....i used to only eat wangs but NEVER again!!!
I know customer service is hard but this place is not an example of Chinese/American cuisine. I purchased a lunch special today of pepper steak and the meat was barely cooked and they serve you 1/2 cup of beef, 1/2 cup of onion/peppers and 2 cups of rice so, the beauty of the dish's sauce was lost on the enormous bed of rice. I love chinese cuisine but this was the worst food i have eaten in 45 years. Sorry/.
They even stop serving chicken wings on lunch specials. If they were smart they would come up with a real lunch special even if the portions were a little smaller but please stop throwing all that rice out there in place of the meal it self. Furthermore, when did you stop serving wings on the lunch special. The price was not bad $4.75. After this experience, I am really afraid to try anything else. All I have to say to the restaurant chefs is don't be discouraged, uphold the true spirit of excellence in dining chinese style. Don't leave out essential ingredients and substitute because it will cause you to loose customers. African americans know chicken, ribs, rice, beef, and pork so, make not mistake about it, if it is not prepared right they will not return. It is time for you to create a lunch menu and just serve that. Same for Dinner menu but, dont stop serving chicken for lunch. Even if you minimize the portions.
I always patroned Wang's on New Bern Ave. Food was always great and the order was correct. This cant be the same Wang's on Creedmoore Rd. I made the mistake of eating at that location only once. And yes, the staff don't appear to be the friendliest. No disrespect, but that is by far the most culturaly diverse chinese take-out I have ever seen. Im sure the food has all kind of influences that may deviate from the traditional flavors one should experience. I thought I was in a food court in the mall. But I can tell you this, Im so dang tired of them ""jimmying"" a menu through my front door. I may be on the computor or watching television and hear all this scratching at my door. Two seconds later I see it inside on my floor in the foyer. This happens at least twice a month. They have one more time before I go over there and read them the riot act.

I love this place. I've never had a problem and the food is tasty and affordable. I don't know what everyone was expecting with the restaurant. Its more like a take out restaurant or a place that someone can go to get a quick bite to eat. When I go here I'm not expecting gourmet food...just comfort food. I don't know if they are all the exact same place, but I also have been to the locations at the corner of Millbrook and Atlantic and the on is Apex. Never had a problem those locations either.

Lousy service, bad ingredients, poorly prepared, small portions, dirty seating area; I've never posted an on-line entry before but I was so disappointed from bringing this food home to my family that I wanted to warn the rest of you. This will be a good test for the power of the internet and capitalism/free markets in general; if either work, this place won't be around much longer.

I'm astounded by the number of negative posts compared to positive. I've been ordering from Wang's for years. Compared to other choices they simply are one of the best in the area. It is true that the customer service isn't always the best on weekends but I've found that is due to them being very busy taking orders from customers that LOVE their food. Hot & Sour soup rocks, dumplings are great. If you like Thai considering ordering Wang's Chili Combo Delight! Gen Tso's Chicken (all white meat) is awesome...not a bunch of batter and sauce like other places. Other than P.F. Changs, I have to rate Wang's as my favorite Chinese!

1. They randomly add things to your order and charge you for them even when you did not ask for them.
2. If you add your order up yourself with a calculator you will find that they don't and its always a few dollars more expensive then it should be.
3. Delivery is super slow compared to the other 3 chinese restaurants in my area.
4. The food is barely average at best.
5. The delivery drivers speed around dangerously in apartment complexes. (And regardless of their speed the delivery is always over an hour.
6. Their delivery fees are crazy.
7. Go elsewhere. Try 888 Chinese. They are 10 times better than Wangs.

When I first moved to the area in 2002, Wang's was great. They had friendly counter people, and the restaurant was always clean and the food fantastic. My, how times have changed! The restaurant itself is filthy and non-climate controlled. I've witnessed 1st hand one of their hispanic cooks wiping sweat with the back of his hand, and then reaching for ingredients. There was a big dead insect by the drink fridge. One dead insect away from the food usually isn't a problem, but I'm 99% sure it was the flies that offed him.
Before we get to the food, let's talk delivery service. Terrible. For starters, and most annoying is the pricing. If you order $10 worth of food, the guy on the phone will probably tell you it's $16.73, or some such nonsense. Well beyond acceptable delivery charges. Gas would have to be $10 a gallon for the inflation to even be worth it. Then your food, if they deliver it to the right address, will get there in just under two hours. Plan ahead. When it arrives, hopefully it's not the European looking gentleman delivering it, because he'll get mad at you if you don't give him a big tip, despite the inflated charge. They have the worst delivery service I've ever seen. 10 times out of 10 your order is wrong! I won't even begin to tell you about giving directions to your house in English to someone who speaks native Chinese, and really doesn't like you. I don't need the ACLU taking down my review.
So, by now you've suffered through ordering in, or paid too much for delivery (if it arrived). Let's talk food! Think about someone you are attracted to. Now imagine that person willing to reciprocate the love, except they're covered in mud mixed with sawdust. That's Wang's food. It's perfectly acceptable if you scrape off the stuff you don't recognize that makes your throat itch. I've gotten meat before that I honestly did not know what it was.
Look... once they were good. Not now. Eat at your own risk. You were warned.

We had received menus for Wang's Kitchen, delivered to our home twice, and had been eagerly looking forward to eating there. Today we tried eating in at Wang's on Creedmoor Road. But we were extremely disappointed. I just could not recommend Wang's for dine-in. (Take-out MIGHT be okay, judging from other reviews I read -- but WE will certainly never order take-out from them!) The place (floor, tables, window-sills, etc.) was dirty, our table sticky and with food particles on it. Cleaning supplies (Windex and rags) were there in dining area; somebody ought to USE them! We did not believe the posted inspection score of 95.5 -- probably deserved only 85.5 today. 2 tables were occupied by people who apparently worked there. One was preparing food out in the eating area! The other was reading a newspaper. Their chairs crowded ours. When we ordered, cashier was indifferent to point of surliness. Didn't ask us if we wanted drinks, so our meal was dry. Required us to pay (and provide a tip on the credit-card form) at the time we ordered, which was BEFORE we had received any food. The waiter did not bring us any utensils with food, jerked his thumb to the counter where plastic forks and napkins were located; we had to get them ourselves. Paper napkins were SOOO tiny! We arrived 3pm, which may explain why the egg-roll was dry, apparently re-cycled from the lunch hour -- it was inedible, and seemed to be made of nearly all cabbage. The spicy beef I had was hot, the accompanying rice was barely warm. Taste was maybe 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Service was nearly non-existent, but give it 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. My wife and I were sorely disappointed with Wang's, and will never go there, or order from them, in the future. I can heartily recommend the Red Dragon restaurant on Fairview Street in Raleigh. It's small, but clean, they act as if they really WANT you there, food is fantastic, and prices are, too.

the service is terrible they could not get my address correct nor my name. When they brought my food the delivery man about ran over my kids playing in the street. They drive like maniacs! Plus Mr.Wang himself is very rude! plus the food was just thrown together....this is a no go!

Ordered delivery. Couldn't eat anything. Greasy, off tasting, weird looking ingredients, the most awful food, not just the most awful chinese, I have ever experienced in my whole life. How they can stay in business is beyond my understanding. Should have checked reviews first. My bad.
