If you need a good rheumatologist, DON'T GO HERE!! I have Arthritis and chronic pain which they dismissed as fibromyalgia because it was the easy answer and they "don't treat fibromyalgia." I've found my symptoms as Sjordgen's Syndrome (SS) and lupus, of which they said I didn't have the symptoms. I've since discovered the area to be impoverished which explains why they don't want to treat patients. Two doctors saw me together - one said Diabetes and the other said NOT Lupus, Diabetes, or RA. Waste of time (took three months for appointment too) and money to go here!
I have been a patient of Dr. Kabir's for several years. I have a rare autoimmune disease and had been to see several doctors before she diagnosed me. Dr. Kabir researched and then suggested aggressive treatment. This slowed the progression. I am sure that if it were not for Dr. Kabir I would be in terrible shape today. Instead, I am living a productive life. She always takes the time to answer any questions i have. I would highly recommend Dr. Kabir to anyone.

So we saw these reviews that she was not the best doctor the day of our appointment. We had already had this thing scheduled and figured we would go anyway. MISTAKE!
She came to conclusions and told me what I did and didn't have without me even telling her all my symptoms! Very rude and not understanding at all. Her prognosis was since I am in such bad pain and I cant even function at all to even put on a pair of shoes that the remedy is to just exercise. Really? The gist was ""start swimming and it will take care of your joint pain"". The problem is is that I can not even move at all.
But overall the whole thing was the worst experience I have had. This is what I recommend, call your insurance company and file a report about them. The only way we can affect change is if it affects there pocket book. Just call and file a report with your insurance and if it is steady enough than they will not have them on there insurance no one else will have it bad like we did!

I'm sorry to say that nothing went well during my visit with Dr. Kabir. I've been sick for 10 years with multiple debilitating symptoms. Four of my many doctors suggested I be tested for a rheumatic disease since I show many, many signs and they run in the family in all sorts. She did not have my ANA panels on file but determined that my ANA was not positive, without blood work. With no testing of any sort, she gave me a diagnosis that I just have pain for no reason and that I should exercise. I told her that I was so sick it was impossible for me to even perform the physical therapy exercises that I was once able to do. She also did not correctly exam my joint range. She forced my joints into place and after seeing that I was in excruciating pain from this, she said that there was nothing wrong with my joints, even with medical records in hand stating problems with multiple joints! A friend accompanied me to the appointment since I am often unable to drive due to my symptoms, he also has many joint problems and has been seen by several doctors and also agreed that her joint examination was improper. She felt a lump in my chest that has had tests run on it and another doctor said was a swollen lymph node. She said that it was not a lymph node that it was a cyst without looking at any test results! Dr. Kabir seems to have no problem saying that every one of my doctors' previous diagnosis and test results are incorrect without additional testing or examination. It seems that it is easier for her to say that they were wrong instead of doing the work of finding what is causing all of my symptoms. She also would not comment on the fact that my Pulmonologist suggest I be seen by a Rheumatologist for breathing issues that are accompanied with severe chest pains outside of the lungs. I begged her for help and she only ordered blood work that I've already had done, and still at this time she did not order ANA testing. Keep in mind that with rheumatic diseases it is very common for ANA levels to change throughout one's illness. They can go from negative to positive or vice versa. ANA levels are also NOT a definitive answer to whether or not someone has a disease. When my blood was drawn, the nurse went into the vein improperly and a small, hard, painful lump formed in the vein at the injection site, and the vein is now bruised. There was also a lot of bleeding after this was done. I am still waiting for the lump to go down and I may need to be seen by a doctor to determine what is wrong. The nursing staff was also unprofessional. Dr. Kabir did not seem concerned that my life has fallen apart due to my illness and was not interested in seeking further to see what was going on. She acted annoyed that I came in and wasted her time. Even seeing me on the verge of tears her attitude did not cease. They also scheduled no follow up for the useless blood work that was ordered. I’m seeing that this behavior is not uncommon in this office. It is NOT ok for a doctor to be unconcerned about following up with treatment, or showing no concern that you are ill. It seems that Dr. Kabir is only concerned about getting her paycheck, not about helping people. I am sorely disappointed and do not suggest that ANYONE be treated by Dr. Kabir.
I encourage you to seek a second opinion, or secondary treatment if you are a patient of Dr. Kabir’s. There IS better health care out there and no one should be treated as this woman treats her patients and staff. You are worth better care! One person stated that it is not her job to be concerned with your mental state. YES it is actually. That plays a huge role in your treatment plan and your diagnosis. If she is not concerned about how your illness if affecting you personally and mentally, how much more is she going to be concerned about your treatment?

Had one visit and Dr Kabir was an hour late and never apologized. Dr. Kabir was rushed and did not listen, left the office feeling ignored. Had to go back a second time since she was the only doctor in the insurance--just as bad! Still would not listen and even questioned why my doctor would waste her time and send me there. Called insurance and told them not to pay her! Would never step in that office again.

Hello i am not a patient of Dr. Kabir's but my parent is. Dr. Kabir is a good doctor, she does not talk much much but she gets her Rheumatology job done very well. The staff are okay but the Nurse that she has now seems to be very Great. In fact she is the friendliest in the building. My parent has not had a problem getting her Rx's and she has mail order also. i would recommend the next person to Dr. Kabir.

After switching jobs and getting new insurance, I had to find a new rheumatologist. I was extremely happy at TARA and very sad about the switch. Only after I switched to Dr. Kabir did I realize how good I had it. I even drove two hours for appts at TARA with Dr. Ross! Now living in the area brought no added satisfaction. Wait time in the office was very long, the office staff was never friendly, if not rude even. They also would not fax Rx's to my mail order pharmacy making it a royal pain to receive my meds in a timely hassle free fashion. That's the very reason I mail order. Now where to go?!

I have been seing Dr. Kabir for nearly two years now. I have had very few issues with her. I have never been made to wait past my appointment time, her staff has allways been nice to me, and she has always been through and professional with me. I read some of the other reviews and I wonder why their experience was soo different than mine. The only issue I have had was that Dr. Kabir was she wouldn't fax scripts to mail order pharmacies. Other than that I have not had any problems.
I wonder if the fact that she appears to be foreign born may have had some impact on the other reviewers opinion.

I am a 28 year old mother of 3, who was diagnosed with RA in September 2007. I LOVE Dr. Kabir! I love the fact that she sees RA as a problem to be solved not just something that could and sometimes does make my life miserable. Your state of mind does play a big part in healing as well as stopping the progression of the disease. She understands that and she practices it. Her manner and way with patients in not to allow them to feel sorry for themselves. She is not going to let you complain about your circumstances because they really could be worse and if they can't be, then you know they can't get worse than that. In this way there's always hope. She truly understands the pain, the disease and is aggressive in stopping both. I don't need her to focus on my emotional feelings for several reasons:
1. Her job is Rheumetology not Psychology.
2. I want her to focus on the disease and the best way to treat it.
3. If I do need the help of a Psychologist she can refer me.
Another review commented on the lack of follow up and I partially agree. There really isn't any follow up from them, however, if you are over the age of 18, your health is your responsibility. It is not their job to make sure we take our medicine or whatever. So if you're looking for someone to whine and complain to call your friends. If you're looking for someone who'll help you beat the odds, make an appointment.

Dr. Kabir is a very unfriendly person, this in turn makes her staff dislike their jobs. She has had a huge turn over in nurses everytime I went to see her she had a new nurse and within a week or two they were always looking for a new job. I saw the was she talked to one of her staff members she treats them like dogs its no wonder its an unfriendly place. The Dr. needs to get a clue this is America not India she is not Superior in this country... I have changed rheumatologist and have found one much more pleasant and has a friendly staff.... I would not recommend my dog to see her........

Dr. Kabir was very kind. She does not have a loud personality nor is she overly outgoing, but she's a doctor! She's supposed to diagnose, not entertain! She was very knowledgeable and very thorough. Her staff tends to be unfriendly, though. The other reviewer commented on the long wait, but that's a standard in all doctors' offices!

Plainly, This doctor feels ""it is your responsibility to follow up with her"" (as stated to me by her staff), not the other way around according to her staff. I was told this when I finally did follow up when I did not receive calls from her office and needed to renew a script. When I was rejected, this is what I was told by her staff that she said.
Additionally, your appt time means nothing. You always wait till way after it.
