Mr. Stevens sold this bookstore 5 years ago, he's now selling his private collection! Not the same, but causing some confusion for sure. The bookstore is a bit more organized every week! It's now almost completely alphabetized, and the sections make more sense. Much easier to shop, and while some of the prices seem high, they are willing to negotiate!

I really love this place. I have spent many an hour and dollar in here. ..saw online the owner is looking to unload this place. I hope he fins a dedicated buyer as I would hate to see Raleigh lose a bookstore like it did when Lucy's Used Books closed many years ago.

Give it a shot.

Huge Fiction section, you may find some text books too. Workers are nice try to help. Little overcrowded but still awesome. Give it a shot.

Changes are on the way

I love the atmosphere of this bookshop. It's really worthy taking a whole day time digging books here. It's got everything. The bookshop seems to have more assistants than before. I love their customer's service. Moreover, recently, the bookshop is now much more organized than before, a place you can never miss in Raleigh!

An Incredible Bookstore!!

This is truely the best used book store I've ever found. There must be close to one million books here. The books are everywhere ... on shelves, in piles in front of shelves, on tables, in display areas, there are just books everywhere on every conceivable subject. To truely benefit from a visit to Stevens you should be prepared to spend hours digging through stacks of books. This is a store that book lovers & collectors can appreciate.
