What a wonderful pet/cat ""CAREGIVER!""

I want to take a moment to share my experience and thoughts about Dr. Duffy. My pet cat is getting old and is beginning to have some complications so I took her to the Raleigh Cat Clinic and Dr Duffy at the suggestion of a friend. What a wonderful experience entering the front doors there is such a warmth and caring feeling. Some other Vets. I have used in the past are ""Profiteers, all about the $oney!"" Dr. Duffy is a true pet/cat ""CAREGIVER!"" The cat comes first! If you are a cat lover the Raleigh Cat Clinic is awesome!

Attention: Web Master

I am Dr. Duffy and would ask that you consider deleting the post from foodangel2 in 2008 because:
This women makes horrible accusations without proof like ""money grubbing vet, rough treatment of cats and manhandled my cat."" It doesn't seem appropriate to post such mean-spirited personal attacks on your site. If I handled cats like that, I would be out of business!!
I have devoted my life to being a feline vet. Posts like this on sites where the business owner can't respond are quite devastating and unfair. I would love to tell my side of this story!!!
Also, her post exceeds your requirement of under 500 characters that you have for the other posts.
Thank you very much for listening.

My cat is not the friendliest. My last vet visit in 2001 was my last because of his behavior. Now after visiting Dr. Duffy and her staff I have a feeling it was the vets skills in handling my special guy that caused me not to visit a vet in 10 years!! Dr. Duffy is very skilled in handling all kinds of temperments! From the moment I walked in they took me into a secluded room to comfort of my problem cat. It was great!! No dogs, no birds, no owners. She handled him awesome...she could examine him(even though he hissed at her multiple times), put him back in his cage without issue. Never had this happen before. Long story boy had 4 teeth removed and they treated him and me incrediable. Dr. Duffy and staff were the best vet experience my cat and I have ever had!!!

Best Vet For Cats

Dr. Duffy always puts the cats care first.. She explains what she is doing, and why.. and also tells you the cost. She will answer your questions openly, honestly ( and i am sure some don't like that)... I love that.

She is the cats advocate - she is more than affordable, it is obvious profit isn't her first concern - it is the needs of the animal.

The office isn't fancy, but the standard of care is the best in the area. i can't imagine not using her for my cats.

Loving, reasonable vet

Dr. Duffy has been our vet for approximately 13 years. I read with interest the two uncomplimentary reviews because this has NEVER been our experience! We had a diabetic cat & we were there a LOT, trying to keep her diabetes under control. Dr. Duffy & her staff have been WONDERFUL & obviously cared for our cats. Her rates are reasonable & her staff is efficient. Our furbabies have been treated with gentleness & kindness & don't mind going to see their doctor.

While we were out of town, our elderly diabetic cat had a stroke & was suffering. When we were given no hope of her recovery by the local vet, so we had her put to sleep. When I talked to Dr. Duffy on the phone about our loss, she was compassionate. If was obvious to me that she loved our kitty too.

Great Staff that cares

Not sure where ""foodangel5"" visited. Dr. Duffy is one of the ""good guys"". Its refreshing to visit a vet who actually cares about animals over profits. My experience has been the opposite of foodangel5's. Dr. Duffy is someone who not only cares about the animals she sees, but her prices are very reasonable. When I have talked to other folks who have been to different vets, I am amazed at the amount of expensive tests that get run. The Raleigh Cat Clinic is not fancy by any means, but it is run by good folks who put the care of your cat first.

Professional, Knowledgeable, Caring. Best Cat Vet in Raleigh!

Dr. Duffy and the staff at Raleigh Cat Clinic have been taking care of my and my family's cats for almost 15 years. Raleigh Cat Clinic was the first specialized cat clinic in the area, if not the state and has years of experience and knowledge in how to not only take care of cats, but to do it right and save you money in the process by not running a hundred expensive tests just to figure out simple ailments. The staff and even the other clients have come to be friends and even family to me, throughout the years and I always recommend Dr Duffy any chance I get. My cat can be a handful and doesn't like too many people, but is always comfortable around Dr. Duffy and the staff and has always been treated well and taken care of. In fact, in all my years as a client there, I've never seen anyone (much less their cats) treated with anything but respect. Dr. Duffy and the Raleigh Cat Clinic are the best around. A+, 100%!

Best Cat Doctor ANYWHERE

Dr. Duffey has been taking care of my six cats up to 14 years. She is wonderful. She loves each patient and is kind and tender to them. She takes time w/her patients ""parents"" to help them understand what we need to do help our ""children"" when they are sick. She has even helped me learn to give an IV to my cat w/renal failure. She has been there when my husband died of pancreatic cancer three years ago. She is a dear person to know and I totally trust her judgement when treating my cats.

Rude, abrasive behavior; unprofessional; manhandles her patients.

My cat is sick and is suddenly losing weight, but I decided to try this vet out since it was closer to my home than my old vet. This turned out to be a mistake, because things went wrong from the very beginning. After taking my information and cat's history in the LOBBY, we were directed to sit in a very sparse exam room. I was also instructed to keep my cat in her carrier, which my cat doesn't like, but I figured we wouldn't be waiting long, so it would be ok. 40 minutes later, Dr. Duffy finally came in. She didn't introduce herself or apologize for the delay. She asked me again what was wrong with my cat, then read read my cat's file, making me wait for her while she did so. She obviously wasn't prepared for my visit. When it came time to check my cat, she opened the carrier, waited for literally seconds, then dumped my cat out of her carrier onto the table. My cat is extremely calm and cooperative, so there's no need to force her out of her carrier when she would've come out with a few more seconds. (She was lying in the carrier with her legs tucked under her--it takes time to unfold herself!) Dr. Duffy then manhandled her during the exam. After a less than five minute physical exam, she shoved my cat back in her carrier. Dr. Duffy then outlined her course of treatment, which included bloodwork, x rays, sedation, an overnight stay, and something she described as a ""black liquid that will clean out your cat's bowels."" She didn't even know if anything was obstructing my cat's bowels, but she recommended something to clean them out? That doesn't make sense to me. All in all, it was over $350 in services. I asked her to explain why my cat needed all these procedures, and she evaded my question. I paid the $46 visit fee and left, thinking that I just paid $46 to wait for 40 minutes and a 5 minute exam. I'm going to find another vet.

Extremely rude and arrogant; left crying

This vet has the worst bedside manner of anyone I've ever seen. She was not a good listener, and she became argumentative when I tried to explain my cat's history. She was arrogant and treated me as if I was a child. She became obviously angry and upset with me - apparently because I could not give the dates of my cat's 10 year history. At various points she implied that I was telling lies about my cat's prior treatment. She never explained why she was so angry with me. She was actually shaking (!) with anger in the exam room - and I do not know why. I also do not know how a vet could get that upset. She did not curse at me (thank goodness because my toddler was with me) but her tone was definitely loud and rude. We both agreed that she was not the vet for me; however, by the time I left I was in tears. I have never felt compelled to write a review on a business before but this was the worst experience I've had in a long time and do not think others should have to go through this with her. I do not yet know where to recommend as I have not found one yet.
