Ace Towing & Recovery
So my wife and 5 year old decided to go to the parade in downtown Raleigh. We are new to the area and when she parked downtown she went to the first kiosk she saw and paid for her parking. (So she thought) after the parade she showed up to where she parked to find that the car had been towed! After walking a half an hour to find ace towing she showed them her recipt that showed she had paid and they told her that she had paid at the wrong place and that there was a sign that apparently said where she should have paid. Therefore they said they couldnt do anything other than take 100 dollars from her to get the car back. They had no sympathy for the situation which was an obvious mistake. Nor were they sympathetic that she was clearly not familiar with downtown Raleigh, or that she had a 5 year old with her that was tired from walking around downtown and hungry. They had no problem taking her last 100 dollars. And they acted like there was no exceptions. They didnt have a choice and tryed to blame the city! They couldnt even admit that the only thing at play here was their own greed and lack of compassion! There is always exceptions, but they were too concerned with getting their 100dollars! Scum!
I would like give this company a excellent review for customer service regarding a recent situation in which my vehicle had to be towed, and there was some possible damage associated with the tow, and although the evidence was not conclusive in terms of the towing causing the damage, they were willing to ensure that I came away satisfied. There is something to be said for integrity, and cultivating relationship. Patronize this business!!
I also had my car towed by Ace Towing and let me say they are a sorry lot in my opinion. I realize they were hired to tow cars from the area of parking lot just next to McDonald's on Capital Blvd, but we did not know this area had been marked as no McDonald's parking. These creeps watched me walk my 84+ year old mother and 3 small grandchildren into McDonald's, then jerked the car out of the parking space. It seems the landlord only wants Kmart or HOPN customers parking there. There were lots of other cars parking there, but I don't know if they towed anyone else that day. (It was a Sunday right after church.) These guys have no idea whether I was going to go to Kmart after going in McDonald's or not. They just took my car which traumatized my mother, myself and scared my grandchildren. I talked to some people and found out that this towing company sits and watches for people who park and go into McDonald's. I was told that it seems they tow mostly people who have children because they know those people are the most desperate to retrieve their vehicles. How much more rotten can you get?
My car was towed from in front of my house even though the Home Owners Association explicitly told this company not to tow for hang-tags at that point. They took my vehicle in the middle of the night... you can only imagine my surprise when I woke up to leave for my vacation and my car was missing. I made a few phone calls and finally found out that my car was taken by Ace Towing. I asked my HOA to get involved with the recovery of my vehicle and they helped communicate and retrieve my vehicle. Ace Towing admitted their mistake, towed the car back to my home for free, and returned it albeit with damage to the front bumper. I called the company and explained to them what I noticed and to make this long story short, the company paid for the repairs as well as a rental vehicle while I had to wait. Overall, this is something that could have been avoided in the first place but it was nice to deal with someone who seems honest and cares about being a good business person. I finally have my car back, the repairs have been made, and I am carrying on as if this never happened.

These guys towed my car from an apartment complex during hours in which they were explicitly not allowed to, then when I tried to get my car back they insisted I pay and then when I was unhappy with it the owner got in my face, told me I was wrong and tried to square off with me. Another time I was there and went to move my car about 20 minutes before the time came in which they were allowed to tow and their truck was already riding the around the parking lot looking for cars to tow. My beef with them has nothing to do with them towing cars that are parked illegally, it sucks but it's what they're hired to do. What makes this company god awful is the fact the do not shy away from the fact that they are trying to screw people out of $100 at every opportunity and when they are confronted with their own unethical practices act like complete lowlifes (which I am now convinced they are). Avoid this company like the plague, and if you have to park somewhere in which they have a contract.. good luck, they must be trying to get their own reality show or something..

Just like many, many, many, many (shall I go on) others on this site, we walked outside this morning to see our car gone. Granted, our neighborhood makes it clear they will tow if you are illegally parked, so I get that, BUT some guy named Keith that works for this shi**y company STOLE $250 out of the car. He was clearly the last person in the vehicle. We called the police and there is nothing they can do either - can't prove it was him that took it. Really??? Who in the hell does business like this!? First of all, you're pissing people off by taking their car when they simply can't find a parking space in their neighborhood because there are only 6 visitor spots for 30 townhomes, THEN you go and STEAL from them!! GET A LIFE! Stop being shady. Oh yea, and guy/owner that made a comment below trying to state they do fair business and what not - LIAR. We called to speak to him about this and all he could say was ""Keith has worked for me for 3 years, I know he wouldn't steal"". Uh huh, then why is $250 gone!?Horrible, horrible, shady company. Unfortuantley, I had to give one star but they don't even deserve that.
They were really nice about calling me back after they looked up information about the car. They were prompt with communication and they were really nice about explaining the situation and the steps I needed to take to recover my car. The manager was a nice and fair man who was considerate and made me feel more comfortable about the whole situation. Thank you for your service.

A Christmas Gift.
When you mention the word Towing a grim ugh! comes to mind. You hear the same universal response from everyone ""They were just waiting for me"" or ""I did'nt see a no parking sign"" I myself have given the same response. Having lived in Raleigh on and off for over 15yrs I experienced my first car towing while moving to a new residence. Having overlooked the parking by permit only, I parked my car and took my things upstairs and left for an out of town trip. upon my arrival, I realized my car was not were I parked it. WHERE IS MY CAR? over and over I asked? A resident saw my concern and politely asked ' Do ya have a permit yet? Frustrated I replied not yet and was in a hurry when I left. He replied Well, you got towed! Wonderful I replied in a sarcastic tone. This is just what I need during the holidays and with limited funds. I then read the signage out front that clearly states the parking policy. I then called Ace towing to get my total and was floored by the amount. I explained to the lady what happened and was there anything that she could do to help me out? I admitted that the driver was doing his job and I'm not mad at anyone except myself. If there is nothing that can be done I understand but it would really help I replied. She put me on hold and returned with a question ""When can you pick up the car?"" I told her today if possible but that depends on the cost? She replied come get it today and it will only cost the towing fee. I could'nt believe what I was hearing, I repeated what she said and she replied that's right. I could feel a lump in my throat and the water in my eyes starting to swell, I cant believe it I replied, she said Merry Christmas! This truly was a gift because the storage fee was twice the towing fee. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and generosity. Let this be a reminder to all that ""Everyone is not out for the $$$ and their are still genuine people that care for their fellow man""

So, my friends car got towed from a neighborhood last night. We shouldn't have parked there, I'll give you that, but we did not expect to be treated the way we did we went to pick it up in the morning.
We were right at Ace at 8:00, their opening time. Both gates were closed. We waited and waited, after ten minutes I called Ace, they said they would send someone right out. I waited another five minutes, the gates were still closed. I called again. They said they would open the gate.
Another five minutes passed and I just resorted to honking my horn obnoxiously at the gate. Finally, someone came out and pointed to the back gate.
How am I supposed to know to go into the back gate? Why not open the front gate? I was particularly pissed about this because it was pouring down rain and the front entrance has an awning and the back doesn't.
So long story short, my friend was very late to work, because ACE DOES NOT ACE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE.
My car was towed from my apartment complex because of the lack of dispaly of my parking pass, however they were willing to listen to my story of the situation when I went to talk to them about it. Even though I wasn't able to visit until after three weeks of the incident, they still remembered who I was and what my issue was. They were considerate of my feelings and helped me to understand why I was towed.

This towing company will illegally tow your car. They will take your car knowing that you will spend as much money combating them in court as it takes to get your car out. Do not doubt this. They are scalpers that run a shady business. Way to go, ACE. Way to go.
