I wanted to share my wonderful experience at Roopokala Sari in Raleigh NC. I went in looking for a specific type of wedding dress. Gita listened to my ideas and was able to find a dress that was more beautiful, than the picture of the one I took in the store. Gita has been very helpful, she took her time with me and did not rush me. I ended up purchasing accessories for my wedding, and Gita was very instrumental in helping me pick those out. I was duly excited when my soon to be husband also purchased his outfit there. They have an extensive amount of ALL types of Indian clothing, fine fabrics, shoes and accessories. The outfits were made of the finest material and the workmanship was flawless. Due to the type material of my dress, I had to have a special seamstress to take it in. Gita had the knowledge of the perfect seamstress and facilitated the whole transaction. The seamstress did an impeccable and professional job.I have told all my friends, family and associates about them. Planning a wedding is stressful enough and she really assisted with taking a lot of stress off me. If you are looking for any fine fabrics, wedding clothing, children clothing, please stop by and visit. You will find a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Hope, Raleigh NC
I had to weigh in here. I had a great experience with Printers Alley. The staff was attentive and the lady that worked with me, Adair, was fabulous. She knows her stock and has a great design sense. I started only with a paint color and she helped me find the fabric for a fabulous room. She figured my yardages (including adjusting for repeats), and had the fabrics delivered to my front doorstep within days. Another store that got great reviews for "being friendly" basically looked at my existing materials and told me "The blues and greens are over there". Not much help. There is something to be said for a great sense of style and a wealth of knowledge.
It seems this is the only option for fabrics unless you want to go way out on Capital. The customer service is inconsistent. The last time it was great, altho I did have to ASK for service. Sometimes it is terrible and many of the staff act like serving customers an inconvenient & they prefer to stand behind the register acting like they are only there for design consultations (the inside the beltline feeling you get). You feel like you have to apologize for getting samples. Management needs to EMPHASIS that is what the job is.
I was in there recently . The fabric selection is the most tasteful i've found.. The store was full of customers, but as I was admiring a fabric , a salesperson approached ME with scissors to cut a generous sample. She offered assistance several times (not in a pushy way.). No way anyone would mistake me for someone sophisticated! Prices are high, but these are high end fabrics, so reasonable.
I just was there yesterday and wonder why I keep going back. The staff is so rufe. Found nothing and no one asked if I needed help. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
