Quality of this office has been deteriorating. Made my reservation weeks in advance. Shuttle was not at it's pick up area for over 15 minutes. Driver did not offer to assist me with my bags which were difficult to get up the steep steps into the bus. A young lady with absolutely no people skills pointed towards a door. She mumbled something about an upgrade. No thanks, I just want the car I reserved. She scowled then mumbled something about they didn't have one available and then stared at me. I said, "I don't want an upgrade, thank you." Asked me to wait in an empty bay. 20 minutes later, she drove up in dripping wet economy car. She told me to sign her note pad. I said I would check the car for dings first. As I drove, I noticed that the interior was filthy with dog hair & seats had stains on them & no floor mats. At acar wash I used the vacuum to clean the car. Upon return, I explained the dirty car situation to them and they took 2 days off my bill which I appreciated.
Overall, Alamo is a good rental company. Newer vehicles, good service, shuttle to and from RDU. Unfortunately, one bad apple can spoil a good experience and reflect badly on the company - and earn only a 3 star rating for this review. Renters with full coverage personal auto insurance are covered in a rental. However, one rogue Alamo agent failed to disclose that fact, instead forcing Alamos auto insurance on me at check in. I freaked when I saw the bill for a discounted rate rental! I'm betting the company has had prior complaints about this guy, and the manager I lodged a complaint with quickly remedied the situation. The takeaway is to not allow this situation to occur the next time you rent. Save yourself the panic of seeing a crazy bill by knowing your rights ahead of time. Contact your insurance agent prior to renting a car to understand your personal coverage in a rental car!
Very good experience with Alamo, except i could not contact the local location where i was to return the car (at CLT), after many attempts by the Alamo toll free number to ring through to them, and my own attempts. When i called the toll free # and pressed the option to get directions to return the car, the man said he couldnt help me with that. The return location address he gave me was incorrect, and thus my mapquest led me astray -- the return location was acdtually within the airport. Otherwise things went well, but it's important to be given a local number to contact for this very reason, and even when i left a voice mail at the local #, they never called back. Very frustrating. Better leave early if you're booking a one way rental and havent been to that location before, leave time to be misled.
It was a great service, I was able to pick up and drop off the car without waiting. You also have very friendly staff. I switched to Enterprise Rent-A-Car for a reason. In April 2015 I was Raleigh in one of your neighborhood car rental place to pick up a car, there was a very long line and it took over an hour to get one. While I was standing in line at that place, I was observing to see what was going on at Enterprise. Enterprise customers were able to go in and leave with cars without long waiting. Few people who were tired of waiting where I was, were able to walk across to Enterprise and received fast service. For my December trip, I made reservation at Enterprise, and your service was excellent. My observation paid off. I will use your service in my next trip. Thank you,
Outstanding service at Raleigh Durham Airport. Quick shuttle ride from the airport. Quick service when a BUNCH of us passengers arrived at the same time. I got Steve for my Enterprise guy (a big friendly funny guy) I told him he was much smarter than his two cohorts working with him! Steve gave me a nearly brand new Durango Limited with very low miles.......did my meetings and came back the next day. Same service on the return, Windows were a little dirty on the inside but other than that, EXCELLENT rental experience. Love me some Enterprise now.
Rented through Enterprise many times these past 2 years. Excellent service at Raleigh airport. Almost always offered an upgrade at no charge, even without my coupons. Most difficult is when there are more customers than workers. It takes a bit more time, but everyone is very friendly. Agent loaded my bags for me when I had an injury to my elbow. I was grateful. I am always offered the agents card and direct contact information before driving away. Dropping the car back off is extremely easy and the shuttle service is excellent.
I am a repeat renter from Durham now Raleigh NC and Iwould not rent from any other rental company. I started renting when I lived in Dirham NC years ago and was well known there, but I moved to Raleigh and I thought that I would not get the same service. Fortunately, I met a agent named Jason at the McDowell location who took my fear away about changing my locations and he assured me he will take care of any of my rental needs. Rented twice in one month for special events and on both occasions, myself as well as others who were helped in the store, were all treated with professionalism, kindness and respect. In both instances from the time I was picked up, (thank you for that service) the drivers very polite, personable upbeat attitudes, to checking in and out.
