I called the Grand Street store and explained to customer service person that the manager had obtained some cake Yeast that my family uses in baking during the holidays. was informed that I would have to come to the store and talk to the new manager. I asked when could I catch the manager at the store and was told "good luck with that", The women said that the Manager was actually in the store then(8:30am- 11/05/2016) but was busy with a Wine and Cheese Tasting. the clerk didn't ask for my contact info so that the manager could call me when he had a chance. I feel that it was very poor customer service and I may take my business elsewhere and advise my friends and family to do so.
I worked here as did my fiance about an hour ago where they fired her because it is super hard to find a babysitter. Pretty ridiculous. We are now out of jobs living in our apartment with a 9 month old. But who cares right as long as neiman foods Inc gets their money.
I went to the County Market at 331 E Stoughton, Champaign. I got peaches (4 pack of DelMonte) on sale with a coupon. The coupon had a picture of the exact item I was purchasing, but the cashier said it wasn't to be used on what I was buying. I took it off of my order and went back to the shelf where I got the peaches and the coupons were placed directly under the item I was buying AND the picture of the exact product was on the coupon. It took 15 minutes to convince them that I should be able to use the coupon. At the customer service counter, the lady said that UPC code wasn't one to be included in the coupon sale. I then told her that it was fraudulent advertising to show a product and then say its not included. Crazy. I think it was handled very poorly and have never had that happen at another store, once you prove that it is the thing for sale. Eventually, she said that I shouldn't get it for the sale price, but she would do it anyway. What a shabby way to treat an honest customer.
I am a regular shopper at the county market in Monmouth Illinois. I get quite a few items and sometimes take my daughter to enjoy chicken strips after school. She is 7 and very impressionable as all children are and has learn we to ask for things at a counter with little to no help. I got my daughter from school early and county market had chicken strips 10 for $10 so we got four , we asked for ketchup and received 3 apiece . My daughter being 7 asked for more then 3 and got rudely told that she could only have 3 and got a cold shoulder . We went to our table and I let her have mine and I went and asked again are you sure we cab only have 3 a piece another rude response . I went and purchased ketchup for.my daughter and I to enjoy our snack at your store . . ... this is the same lady repetitively every time we go to the deli ( once or twice a week ) I pray DEB is not there as dose my 7 year old . Something has got to give. She is unsuitable to work up front she is by far the worst person I've ever encountered at this county market ( not just me I could develop a list ) I cam only hope someone can or will do something because not one person at the store can point me to anyone but Rob and 3 years later she is still here ,and rude as ever . I suppose if nothing changes in will just drive the 20 minutes to hyvee
The absolute worst place I have ever worked! Manager Don Taylor in Mattoon worst boss ever!! How do you work for someone u can't even trust? Working hard and doing it well earns no merits with him, but suck ups and tattle-tales become his right hand girl. He's a huge liar!! Will say or do whatever it takes true or not to throw ones who don't kiss up to him under the bus! He doesn't talk to you he talks down to everyone!! Thinks he's better than everyone else!! No loyalty to anyone Except of course his lackys!!! Have to say my dept. Manager Angela K. is nothing more than waste of space. She's been there almost 3 yrs. and has never filled a position, never woked past 5 and does nothing!!!! She also, is a huge liar, and back stabber!!! Example: she actually threw away a $1200.00 truck simply because she was more worried about leaving work an hour early(paid salary). When she Knew the truck was coming, and we told her to at least tell night people to push it in cooler and I would put it away next day. She once again said nothing to noone, so it sat in back hallway entire night!! Then get this 2-3 weeks later she gets 1000.00 bonus!!! She lied to everyone and put all blame on a girl who only worked nights and she had only worked 3-4 times prior!!! Top it all off Angela wasn't even questioned about it by Don, he just let her blame kelly!!! Probably his idea I say!!!! They have quite the set-up!!! She gets paid for all Dr. visit she makes all husbands Dr.s appointments Even her massages!! Always schedules them on days she works so she can get paid for it!! Goes to whatever it is that day then goes to her 1 hr. lunch after!! She goes somewhere 2-3 times a week every week!!! I was always told that's stealing!!! but i guess not for her. I could go on and on, but moral of my story is County Market has got to be the worst place to work at least the one in Mattoon IL! I wasted 8 yrs. of my life and on a company that only cares about the bottom line(Their money) and themselves and I AM DONE WITH UNGRATEFUL, DISLOYAL, LYING,SUPPOSED TO BE MANAGERS!!!!!
while the store is very clean and the selection is fair, not as good as allot of the bigger grocery stores in town, the prices are extremly high when compared to the other stores in town, and the deli food is not very good. just a dissappointment overall. I would say it is not the employees fault as they were all very nice and tried to be helpful. but top management or owners by the desisions at the top affectting the store itself
