I am a returning customer to Karen's Home and Design, and I am simply shocked to read these negative comments. Two years ago, we bought our family room furniture at Karen's. Everything from the reasonable price to the delivery was smooth and problem-free. We love our furniture. We have three boys, and they have done everything to the sofa. However, our sofa is still going strong! Yes, well-made, AMERICAN-MADE furniture costs more and yes, I had to wait longer to get my furniture home, but in my humble opinion it is totally worth it. I am happy to support Karen's, a local, family-owned business that sells American-made instead of cheap imports! Over the summer we purchased our dining table, which was handcrafted in Lancaster County, and I am in love with it! Again, we had a positive experience at Karen's from our salesperson to the delivery men. I recommend Karen's Home and Design to you, family, and friends.

We placed an order in Feb (del'y to be in 8 weeks) and in May they could not give a delivery. The called the manufacturer but had no information on delivery! June we called again - no information. By mid June we were given a date that came and went. Then we were given two different ship dates. When we went to cancel the order we were told there was a 5% restockingfee as ourfurniture had come in.
We refused to take delivery after the lies and lack of customer service on their part, and refused to pay restocking charges. Looks like this one could go to court.

We ordered a bedroom set for my daughter in mid-March and paid 50% down. We were told 8-10 week delivery. Ten weeks later in early June, there was NO word from Karen's. We called and they said our order arrived in North Carolina and is being trucked to PA.
2 weeks later, no calls. We called Karen's 4-5 times and left messages. No one ever called back. Finally, on June 30 we insisted to know a delivery date. They said the furniture was on ""back order"" until the end of July (18 weeks from order) and there was no guarantee of delivery. When we asked about the previous story of the furniture being in North Carolina, they hung up on us. No furniture and as of yet - no refund! This place is a rip off and nothing but liars.

My husband and I purchased a head and foot board for our existing bedroom furniture. Karen's matched the color of our old set to the new set exactly. However, when we picked up the rails and bed slats, the manufacturer placed full size rails and slats and marked the cartons king size, which we needed for our bed. A Karen's furniture employee herself delivered a temporary bed frame for us to use until the correct rails come in. The new frame will be delivered and set up at no charge to us. We believe Karen's have done everything possible to resolve this issue. The sales staff has always been friendly and helpful and it's been a pleasure shopping there.

Unhappy consumers have spoken!!! All of the other Pennsylvania locations of Karen's furniture are OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! The Warminster, Allentown and Colmar locations are all now closed. Quakertown is the only PA store that is still open and if unhappy consumers have their way they will close too! Karen's has a poor customer service record. There are complaints filed with the Bet Bus Bur and I personally submitted a complaint to the Attorn Gen. I urge all other unhappy customers to do the same! If the Attorn Gen gets enough complaints about their unethical practices they may take legal action against this company. Let your voice be heard!!!

Karen's furniture Customer Service Department has given me the run around for so long that all I can say is that I will NEVER shop at Karen's furniture again! I also recommend that anyone interested in shopping at their store look up their record at consumer complaint oriented websites!

Buyer Beware Karen's Furniture has an unsatisfactory record online! Check it out for yourself!
I purchased a King Hickory sofa and chair with ottoman for a little over $4000. When someone is willing to pay that much for furniture, they expect LASTING QUALITY! Within a couple of months a throw cushion started coming apart at the seem, the ottoman top cushion that was too large for the base started hanging over on two sides. The base cushions which are supposed to be down wrapped are flat and hanging over the front both pieces of furniture. Karen's has given me the run around about remedying the problems since I contacted King Hickory on my own to convey my disgust at the drop of quality craftsmanship. I already had a set of King Hickory that had to be replaced because of a horrible accident by a professional painter. I have had numerous phone calls unreturned and been treated with a lack of courtesy. I have been given the run around and I would recommend that if you are interested in furniture to go some place else. It seems that the ""satisfaction guaranteed"" motto is only good for the first 30 days, after that you have to fight for what is right. Check out the unsatisfactory reports at the Bet Bus Bureau and other complaint oriented websites.
