I love Julie's Gluten Free Bakery and what I love about it the most, having to eat gluten free is a tough job, but at Julie's there is nothing but gluten free, it doesn't have non gluten free stuff like the other bakery's, there is no cross contamination of gluten to non gluten. Her stuff is delish and it might be a little spendie, but what isn't spendie when it comes to gluten free, you ever priced the flying apron products, wow went to buy one at whole foods last week and it was $6.00 for a cinnamon roll and it's not fresh right from the oven like Julie's is. It could of sat in that wrap for over a month. I am a regular customer at Julie's I have to have special orders made for myself cause of food allergies and they have no problem making them for me. The people that work there are so nice and when you walk thru the door they welcome you with open arms and a big smile. And did I mention how cute the bakery actually is... Keep up the good work crew and I'll see you tomorrow for my special order of coconut topped donuts...
The quality of the cupcakes has really gone down since they have opened while the prices have gotten higher. Also choosing random days when to put nuts in the cupcakes isnt very smart. Wont be going back again, I recommend going to Great Harvest Bread Co. because they have better quality gluteen free products at a cheaper price!
Hi Celleen, Thanks for taking the time to review us and we're sorry to hear about your negative experience with Julie's Gluten-Free Bakery. It's unfortunate you won't be giving us another chance, but I would like to take this opportunity to point out a few things. One, our prices haven't raised a penny since we've opened. They have remained exactly the same and quality has only gotten better as our staff has become more fluid with our bakery, setup, recipes, and equipment, and more. We have also added dozens of new recipes and continue to expand. Secondly, while we are a peanut-free facility, we do serve other nuts like walnuts. Some of our items, like our walnut bread, are available with or without walnuts. Some items, like our carrot cake, are always made with walnuts. Our recipes do not change, unless it is announced like when we removed red dye from our Red Velvet or switched to SunButter instead of peanut butter. Our items do not change daily, but anything can be special ordered nut free. While we do our best to accommodate as many as many allergies as possible, we can't possibly know of what allergy every person has and it is their responsibility to alert us so we can make sure they only choose items that will work with their dietary restrictions. We would be thrilled to help guide our customers to our products that are suitable for them, we just need to know what they can and can't have. Lastly, while Great Harvest Bread Co. may bake great products, recommending someone go there who requires a gluten-free lifestyle is irresponsible. Wheat flour covers everything in a bakery and will make someone sick who cannot have eat gluten. Their website even states "there is a high risk of cross contamination of gluten onto our gluten free products." This is not a safe alternative to someone unable to eat gluten, while Julie's Gluten-Free Bakery is a 100% dedicated gluten-free bakery and there is no risk of getting sick or cross contamination. Thank you again for taking the time to review us and hopefully we'll see you back in again soon.
The new "peanut free" Peanut Butter Cup cupcake is divine!! I purchased it for my son but wasn't really willing to share with him. It was so good! Julie is using Sunbutter instead of peanut butter. She has perfected it! I am still craving another! Thanks Julie for making your cupcakes accessible for the whole family. We will be back!!
Thank you Kari! I'm so glad that you enjoy our cupcakes.. I agree with you the Sunbutter Cupcake is delicious :-)
Julie’s (Gluten-Free) Bakery made my niece’s wedding cake. Not only was it the best gluten free cake I've ever had, it was just about THE BEST CAKE I've ever had. I had no idea Spice cake could be so delicious. The butter cream frosting was perfect. Firm and not too sweet. The cake was very moist and flavorful. Thank you Julie’s Bakery. Nobody believed me when I mentioned it was gluten free. Congratulations to Julie for your marvelous baked goods. I will be sharing your information with all my friends.
Maybe it is a good thing that the bakery is not closer to Olympia...I would go all the time! The shop is very cute...and all the cupcakes look picture perfect. Quite the assortment!
Having a dedicated gluten-free bakery is amazing...plus the fact that they have several vegan options is even more amazing!
Everything I have tasted so far has been really good. Cupcakes have good texture (really important in gf baking)...and the icing is quite tasty.
But I have to say that so far, the vegan peanut butter cookies put me over the top!
And Julie is willing to work with customers and make what they want for future visits.
There just might be a carrot cake (or carrot cake cupcakes in my future!)
