There was a bit of a wait, but the overall experience was fine. The office is clean and modern. What was big for me, was the finances. They were very well laid out, in writing before I started my treatment. There were no surprises at the end either.

My husband was having dental issues and had seen this doctor several years ago. We lost our insurance, so he stopped going. Recently we obtained new dental insurance and we were thrilled to get his teeth fixed! When I called the office to see if they were participating with our plan, they said the were. Great! Let's make some appointments! 3 xrays, a cleaning, 2 teeth pulled and one of two crowns done I receive our E.O.B.... we hit our "allowed" amount, even though every time he went for a visit he was paying over $100, which I thought was kind of steep for a copay, considering what we pay for our insurance. So I call the insurance company......turns out that they are not in network, so they can charge what ever they want.....That's kind of sleazy and a bad practice to NOT inform your patients that you are not in network. I worked for an orthopaedic spine surgeon for 11 years, I dealt with insurance companies and angry patients who receive bill when they feel they should not. It was our office policy to tell patients UP FRONT what will not be covered. I am not even going to get in to the doctor constantly trying to upsell procedures and basically using fear to get my husband to agree to them. On my husbands last visit, the doctor claimed he ran out of time and could not finish the procedure, so we had to make another appointment to finish. I received this information about the doctor being out of network before he went back to have it done. We took our records and are now going to an in network doctor, even though the work will not be paid for by the insurance company. We got screwed, we were completely misinformed and now we have no choice to finish the work somewhere else and pay for it all. Sadly this is not illegal, and technically the office didn't do anything wrong, they just failed to provide all of the information. That's just bad, bad medical practice. Don't go to this dentist.

I called Putnam Family Dental for toothache emergency, They were kind and swift enough to see me and take care of my pain. Then I was put on cleaning schedule along with the necessary X-ray that showed all the cavities I need to have them filled.

Thank you Dr. Whitman
