I called to make an appointment for a home showing on a Tuesday afternoon. They scheduled me for Friday morning at 9:00am. I was really excited to see the home and the employees talked highly of the interior. I got a phone call at 1145 Thursday morning stating they had not notified the tenants of the Friday morning showing and that they require 24 hour notice to the tenants, so they would not be meeting me Friday morning. But they did offer me another time, 430pm that same day; however, I live out of town and am planning to drive back early Friday morning, hence the 900am showing. When I inquired about an earlier showing she stated "We can show it at 430pm, sorry". Very disappointed by the professionalism. I cleared my schedule Friday morning for this showing, and they clearly failed to do the same.

Professionalism

I rented with Heritage for a year and they were really easy to work with very laid back. They don't try to swindle you for money like ALL the other agencies in Pullman (I got almost my entire security deposit back and my apartment wasn't even that clean; case in point). They were very helpful when I called to ask for them to fix things. Best rental experience I had in college.

It's hard to even give these people one star. Worst customer service. Seems like they are annoyed you need help. Hidden fees with no explanation. If you expect your full deposit back, you're wishing. I got $275 taken from mine with no explanation at all. I've been waiting for an explanation for 4 weeks at least now. Above all I was told I had a check sent to my address and didn't receive one until 5 weeks later. I would avoid this business at all times. Coug housing is the way to go. No run arounds and very upfront with their entire process

My girlfriend and I moved to P...

My girlfriend and I moved to Pullman from Seattle in 2007 and from the day we moved in there were problems. For instance, we talked with them about moving in on a Saturday and they told us that a key would be provided and that the walls would be painted. We arrived and were surprised to find a "locked" door, and after several attempts trying to call them (we made calls to their emergency number and went out to eat hoping that they would get back to us) there was no response. My dad finally just used a credit card to bypass the "lock" on the door. The walls were not painted, in fact the apartment was not even prepared for us to move in, although they had told us they would be making improvements. Throughout our stay we had difficulty getting repairs done on time, and when they did make repairs the people they hired were far from professional.

When I moved out on January 15, 2011 Heritage charged me for the full month of January even though I told them this would be my move out date. They also greedily stole 90% of my deposit for a non-existent "inspection" and other made up fees. The BBB has been trying to contact Heritage about my complaints but they won't even respond!! This will have the effect of dropping their BBB ranking from "A" to "E" or "F."

The staff at Heritage Realty are lazy, underhanded, incompetent, & rude and I urge you to stay away from this slumlord company.

I have rented from Heritage for 3 years. The staff is friendly, and the owners and very nice. They have always been willing to help me, as long as I stayed in contact with them about what was going on with my rent and any other payments owed. When you sign a lease, you are given the opportunity to READ through the entire thing, and ask any questions. They also give you a copy of your lease when you move in. Heritage gives a grace period until the 5th at NOON. If you are a couple hours late, it's still late. Most places don't even allow you to pay after the 1st, so I am great full for the extra few days. In what world is a business required to call you and tell YOU that you paid YOUR rent late? Also, the late fee is 10% of rent, not a consistent $72.00. A place that manages 100's of college kids can't be expected to chase everyone down who pays rent late.

Hidden fees, bad service, and they will trick you into owing them money

Avoid these people at all costs! I lived in the Morton complex (near Reaney Park) and the apartment was so dirty. Mold grew near the dryer and balcony door, BEFORE I even moved in. I didn't notice it at first, but if you were close to it, you can definitely smell the mold. The customer service is also poor. They act all nice, but they'll charge you $72 if you were a couple of hours late on the rent payment. They also don't contact you if you have a late fee on your account, so if you didn't know you even had that $72 late fee, they will add another late fee of $72 each month. Yup, they like to trick you like that. They love robbing innocent people of their money. They didn't decide to tell me I had a late fee until 4 months later, when the late fee already added up to $288, I tried reasoning with them that I had no idea that I even had a late fee, but all they said was, "It's not our responsibility to tell you that you have a late fee. It's in your lease." I hope these people get sued.
