My review is the same as everybody else, The owner is very rude and quick to try and belittle you. I did however buy a pellet stove from them and a hearth the owner said they couldn't get, I went online and found it and had him order that one. He said he had to order the regular hearth anyway. The technicians I had though were very good and seemed to want to please me, (the customer) something the owner Gary should learn about! I couldn't give a zero or I would have, although like I said his two techs were very good. If I could go back in time I certainly would not buy from here again. The stove store in Canon City is very professional, I spoke with the owner there and he emailed me info and pics. I only wish I would of brought my business to him. Stay clear of this business!
Called for a replacement glass on a Quadrafire Mt Vernon Stove. Owner was very rude and short on the phone. He gave several reasons why he could not look up the part number for me. "I need manufacture year." To his surprise I told him the year. " Well I need the model number." Gave him that too. I quickly realized no matter how much info I gave him, he was not interested in ordering the part for me. Extremely rude on phone. Continuously interrupted me during our conversation and rushed to end the phone call. Short and gruff in his conversation. $199 to tune up a single gas fireplace. Told me how busy and booked up he is, rather than attempt to meet my needs.
Very poor customer service, Gary the owner doesn't seem to care about earning your business either. I traveled 45 min with my trailer to make a $300. purchase only to discover they only deal in cash or personal checks. The thing is though I stopped in to inquire the week prior and called the day before going and it was never mentioned once about they're pay policy. I just walked out, done with them for good.
I used Glenn and Rodney from this company and both were friendly and helpful at first. My hot tub still sits unrepaired and they don't even know if it was something Glenn or Rodney failed to repair. But since I did not purchase my hot tub from Energy Alternative I was put on their low priority list. Glenn never showed up when he committed to showing up and then Rodney would never show up when he committed to showing up.I called the store and expressed my disappointment and was reassured that he would find out the problem and get back with me. It has been two weeks later with no explanation or repair done. This is an unreliable business don't be fooled by their friendly, willing attitude!
Beware...a simple service call costs $199 at minimum, no matter how much time they spend. The technician will be late (very, in our case. And no courtesy phone call to warn) and your problem will not be solved. There's a place in Canon City that charges much less.
