I had an appointment with Marinello in Provo for my wedding day, to do my hair and make-up. They were going to make special arrangements for me to be in at 9 am, an hour earlier than they normally take clients. They told me I would be in and out within an hour to an hour and a half. I called back twice and twice they confirmed the appointment was set. I called a third time, close to the appointment date, to be sure they would be ready for me and was told under no circumstance would they see me before 10 am. I complained that I was told differently and was counting on this appointment to get ready for my wedding. The girl who took my call seemed sympathetic but it all came down to the Director/Mgr saying I was out of luck. This was 1 1/2 days before my appointment! If I had not called a third time, I would be stuck there on my wedding day, waiting an extra hour to be seen, and this would have delayed the whole wedding! I hired a professional photographer who is on a tight schedule - he would not have time to wait around. To make matters worse, when I complained and said I wanted the Manager to hear about this, I was told they talked to the girl that last did my hair and it would take too long to do my hair anyway. Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!?!? This is horrible business! Now here I am, stuck 24 hours before my wedding and I still can't find anyone to do my makeup, not early enough in the morning. This is reprehensible and I will NEVER go back to Marinello. Marinello - you get an F for business practice and customer service. You ruined my wedding plans and now I'm left scrambling. 12/29/14 Follow-up comments: I ended up having to do my own make-up but I did find someone else to do my hair and guess what? It only took them 40 minutes! I went to the hair salon in the American Fork Walmart and they did a fabulous job on my hair. If I had to have my hair done again for a photo shoot of any kind, I would go to Walmart over Marinello. Do not go to Marinello!!!
My sister had gotten her eyelashes done here and they looked good, so I brought my friend with me! We paid $75 for the glam set which is supposed to be really full! It took the lady two hours to do my eyelashes and I looked in the mirror and the lashes on my right side were fuller so I asked her to put more on my left! The girl told me that my friend was done and that I didn't have many lashes left to put more on my left side. She still put a few more but my right side is still thicker, she only gave me a brush and we walked out and my friend wasn't even done getting her eyelashes done! I didn't like that she tried to rush me! When I saw my friends eyelashes she had way less than me and were both really unhappy and some lashes started falling out right after, it was her first time and the girl working on her knew that and she didn't tell her anything about maintaining them. What if she decided to take a shower when she got home? She would have wasted her money. My friend called back to get a refund because literally she did not have $75 dollars worth of eyelashes on her eyes. And four more fell out the next day, she called the school and the lady that answered the phone pretended the call dropped. Then my friend called again and the lady told her a teacher would call her back. Of course the teacher did not call her back and they are open till 9pm! So my friend called back the next day and the lady said that she couldn't have a refund and that she could get half off if she came in again. Yeah we aren't going back and spending a cent at their school! Also when the teacher came in to check on my friend while she was getting her lashes done she said "oh not too bad" and when she came in to check on how the student was doing on me she had said oh they look beautiful! I didn't attempt getting a refund because mine were more fuller than my friends. My friends lashes looked like she had a few spider legs on her lashes. Terrible job and a very rude teacher! Spend your money somewhere else!
