If u are looking for a quality product and a family first atmosphere head down to independent meats!! I have been going through the Quimbys sence 2010 and I couldn't be more satisfied with their products!! Shane is a flexible owner who will help whenever asked, he will go out of his way to garentee you get the best service! I love independent meats, in my opinion best smoked meats in Central Oregon...hands down!
If anyone wants to get there meat ripped off go to INDEPENDENT MEATS. Sold our prime cuts and billed me $500+ dollars for cut and rap. Called the owner and was told he would reimburse us a portion of the $500. Slaughtered 2 large Duroc cross Hampshire and only got 3 packages of steaks. Butcher said our pigs cut like butter, With a half smile on his face. If you want all your true cuts of your stock that you have spent a large amount of $ and time in go to Cinder Butte in Terrebonne. New owners and very very HONEST!!!! You can even view your own meat being prepared and take it home when there done the same day.
Tammy seems to forget or misplace notes and Sean just does his own thing. They make decisions for you. We asked for original, sage and Italian sausage- they gave us 30lbs of Italian and Tammy laughed off the mistake asking "What do you want me to do now? There is nothing I can do at this point." We asked them to keep the heads to make Posole and head cheese. Tammy forgot to relay this and now we are S.O.L. Also not upfront or clear about the charging process which adds up. You can get the same service for half in Bend and Redmond- we checked- unfortunately after the fact. We brought this up to Tammy and she laughed again, commenting that "That's how the cookie crumbles."Bottom line, this was an awful experience. There are other options and I will go elsewhere next time.
