I was introduced to Tortuga's by a friend--you'd never know it was there unless someone told you. The mole was fabulous, the chips and salsa were great as well. It was quite crowded on a Saturday night, but we definitely enjoyed ourselves and were completely stuffed when we left.
One recommendation I would make is that the restaurant should acquire a frozen drink machine, to make virgin margaritas. It is a BYOB restaurant, but you could add your own tequila to the frozen concoction. This is how many of the BYOB Mexican restaurants in the northern part of the state do it--and they charge about $10 per pitcher which is still much cheaper than buying a pitcher of margaritas at a full service restaurant. For Tortuga's, we had to haul all of our margarita-making equipment with us. It was still well worth the trip.
As for the reviewer above, I personally can't imagine what one would expect on Nachos EXCEPT for cheddar cheese. A ten year old may want Velveeta, but I personally wouldn't set foot in a place that didn't use real cheese in its recipes. Next time, go to Taco Bell.

I have been eating at Mexican Village for many years. The food is always superb, the service fast, and the prices extremely reasonable! The the best of my knowledge they do not take credit cards.
They are very accommodating when it comes to altering spiciness in their dishes. I like spicy; husband wants the same thing but not spicy, etc. Think this is the place to go for authentic mexican food --- not the big chain restaurants which are the american bastardized version of mexican. This restaurant is in a Mexican neighborhood, frequented by the locals who also work and cook there!

We just went to this restaurant and it is beyond terrible. My 10 year old was insulted to find out that they use cheddar cheese on their nachos. Even a 10 year old knows you don't put cheddar cheese on nachos. The food was horrible and to top it off, my wife's entree had a bug and a worm in it. They didn't even apologize for it and only offered "sometimes bugs get in the lettuce". We will never set foot in this restaurant again and will advise our friends the same.

This is a tiny little restaurant with very good food. At lunch time it is packed, and the service is fast. Their salsa is excellant and their food is very good too. I would like to see them relocate to a nicer area and a larger place.
