I've been coming to Trudy's for years, normally for a special occasion because they have the famous Mexican Martini, and a free one on your birthday. The parking here fills up fast but if you're coming at dinner a lot of the other businesses in the lot are closed, which opens up some spots. Just be ready to park on the other side of the lot and walk a little bit. The building itself is pretty cool- it has a lounge feel, the upstairs bar is good for small groups. The outside patio still has pretty good climate control. The booths are huge! It gets pretty loud inside, and you can expect a pretty long wait for dinner Thursday- Saturday. The atmosphere is fun- perfect for parties or group dinners. I like this location better than the one near campus because you don't have quite so many drunk college students.I pretty much stick to the same order every time- Stuffed Avacado with suiza sauce, refried black beans and rice. This entree is soooo good. I'm always a little surprised at how spicy the sauce is (not to mention the complementary salsa), but nothing a Dr Pepper can't handle. I just recently tried the weekend brunch and was pleasantly surprised. I normally don't like buffets at all. The salad bar is small but stocked with good stuff, and the homemade chipotle ranch is divine. The fruit was fresh and sweet. There's queso and tortilla soup available. On the hot buffet line, I tried a little bit of everything, but since I was there later, I didn't try as many of the breakfast items- there's migas, hashbrowns, and other breakfasty items. I reallly liked the mushroom enchiladas, mini stuffed poblano peppers and mini stuffed avacados. Then there's little dessert items, including flan, tres leches, cobbler, and cookie squares. I tried the cookie squares because I was really full after everything else. The buffet was 11.95, including a drink. I normally get the stuffed avacado which is 11 alone, plus a drink. So I'd say that the buffet is a pretty awesome value for what you get.
I love this place! It's much nicer than most Mexican places without being expensive. It's a fantastic place for a date with a romantic atmosphere. Their margaritas and salsa are the best in town! It's hard to pick what to order here because everything I've had is really good.
My new favorite restaurant! I have lived in S. Austin for almost 2 decades - consistently the best of flavors and service! Scores above more expensive Tex-Mex and Mex places for me and all that I show it off to! I think I'll go tonite.
Taco Deli has stolen the ""Best Taco in Texas"" award from me once again. The Mojo Tilapia taco was life changing, especially with the special yoda colored hot sauce drizzled all over it. I also took a shot of the spicy habanero sauce... careful with that one. The staff was well prepared for the…
Eat and drink at the bar, happy hour is awesome. Table service lacks. I eat there often and only a few times had problems with servers. Had one server forget we ordered another round of drinks, billed up for them, and accused us of getting them. The manager approached and I pointed out acros…
My wife and I went to Matt's El Rancho for a date night. Our waitress was fantastic. We really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. The menu was extensive, prices were reasonable, and food was delicious. We look forward to going back soon!
Friends brought us to this great new spot. If you like variety, this is the place to come. 3 salsas, 2 kinds of chips (sweet potato & corn). are standard. Queso sampler (3) is yummo!\r \r I like the fact that they let you mix & match on what you order. Not super cheap - about $7-12, but qua…
14. El Arroyo
This is hands down my favorite Mexican food in Austin. And it's cheap!!! The location is amazing, and the outdoor patio is so much fun, esp at happy hour. They have a nice indoor area as well, for when weather isn't as nice. (Though you can eat outside year round, as its now covered and heated).…
My wife and I are regular saturday afternoon customers. We only discovered this restaurant a couple of months ago. I love the cheese enchiladas, they remind me of old Austin Mexican food circa 1960's, and my wife tries and, so far, likes every dish she has tasted. The frozen margaritas are well …
18. Super Burrito
Great Burritos and Tacos. I highly recommend the Lengua Tacos, they are amazing!!!! Service is very friendly! Who knew austin has little kept secrets like this Fast Food Mexican Restaurant! I recommend it to all my friends!
I go to this place every Saturday, I love it. The customer service is getting better, the food though is AWESOME and cheap. I recommend when you're in the south side of town and you want cheap as close as you can get to Mexican food. This is the place. Try the migas or the bacon and egg plate w…
27. Taco Express
I go to Maria's Taco Xpress every Sunday when I visit Austin. The very best breakfast taco's and the Gospel Brunch with the McMercy Family Band makes all worth the trip. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a great band...
I don't think I have ever had a bad experience at Z'Tejas ever. In fact I love to eat there! These are some of my faves that you really just can't go wrong with... \r \r Go to either location and order this: Drink- Fruzion (sp?) Margarita: their yummy frozen rita with a floater of fruit infus…
El Alma has two different kinds of delicious salsa. They also have two kinds of chips. They bring the thick flaky yummy ones with the queso or ceviche, both of which are delicious. You can't beat their happy hour!
Was at the hotel next door for a board meeting. There were about 6 of us who arrived the evening before so we went together to Pappcitas. The place was really busy but our wait was fairly short. The staff were great, the menu had lots of choices & our waitress was great telling us details when we asked questions. The "Adult Beverages" were made by an experienced bartender. When we got our food it was very good and obviously not been left sitting, the meats were still sizzling. We agreed we would go back when we go to our next meeting.
I've been there twice the food was pretty good yesterday I went with a bunch of girlfriends we had happy hour margaritas the first margarita was awful so so I pick top. Shelf tequila el patron it was really good but it was $10 and was really small. So much for happy hour prices I didn't mind the $10 margarita but it sure was small I will continue to go there because I think its a nice restaurant and the food is great but I won't be ordering margaritas the waiting staff was excellent . The atmosphere was wonderful also. Thanks for reading
The northwest Austin Arboretum location is great for business lunches or happy hour. Small two-person high-top tables next to the bar are first come first served and great for times when there's a long wait for table seating. The Z’ Burger is probably one of the top 10 burgers in Austin, with a great bun, despite it being priced slightly on the high side when adding cheese. Service is not exemplary, but by all means prompt, thorough, and most oftentimes, friendly.
You can mix and match up to 3 fillings for a $2 breakfast taco (additional ingredients cost extra, corn and flour tortillas available). Ingredients include spicy sausage, eggs, cheese, beans, bacon, potato and more. The tacos were delicious and their red sauce has got a kick to it. The service can be iffy, so I would ask whoever takes your order to repeat it back to you so that you make sure you're not paying for things that you didn't ask for.
Went there yesterday with friends and had a great experience. Been there a few times but had an awesome waitress name Cera, this time. Told her I was gonna give her a good review so she made sure I knew it was Cera with a C. Awesome name, awesome service. She was so polite and did her best to make sure we were all satisfied. Will definitely start coming back to this location. Alot better energy there now
Let me just say the fajitas beef were to die for!!! Oh and the tortillas made fresh were delicious also. Came here with friends while visiting them from California. Really wish we had this place out here. They have a melted butter you can dip or pour on your food that is so good and flavorful. Adds so much more to the already delicious food. The bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp was also very good.
This place was awesome! The service was great and the food was good. I have been a fan of Baby Acapulcos for years. I celebrate my birthday there yearly for the last 5 years and I go there with my friend and family when I want to show them a good time. The Purple Margarita is nectar of the gods! I will go back again and again.
We were craving a late breakfast and The places we wanted to try were closed so we pulled I here because of the full parking lot.We ordered a whole chicken meal: grilled chicken with rice and bean. This is awesome grilled chicken, very tasty and very ethnic. And the staff are so friendly today.Y'all come and enjoy.
Great tex Mex. We got the steak burrito, chika chika boom boom and fries fish tacos and they were all very very good. Won't be disappointed. Might have to wait a little for a seat, but they have a nice air conditioned wait area and a chip and salsa bar that is very good. My little kids loved it too
