I stayed here after a recent hip surgery. It came highly recommended and I was glad to go and start my Rehabilitation. My enthusiasm lasted about an hour, my other hip was fractured during the gurney to bed transfer, and once they diagnosed the new fracture all they did was put me in a wheelchair and work my arms. My nurse told me not to bother trying to sue them over the fracture because they would blame it on me saying I had a condition that caused the fracture. I looked on my paperwork and sure enough they put on there that I have Osteoporosis, which I don’t. They clogged up my IV line because their facility is to cheap to use the proper medications to keep the lines cleared. Then they almost damaged the IV trying to physically squeeze it to get it to work again because they did not want to use the expensive medication to clear out the clogs they caused. I saw two other patients in my hall get dropped or fall on the floor. They brought the wrong medications or never all the right ones every time they came to my room. The nurses openly complained about having to many patients to care for. They assigned two patients to one Physical Therapist, the majority of my time there, so half your time was waiting for them to finish with the other patient. If you had to go to the bathroom they would help you get to the toilet than take 20 minutes or more sometimes to help you get back to bed. They told me they ran out of my medications and other medical supplies and had me bring them from home. I found out later they try to do this so they don’t have to pay for your medications while you are an inpatient. They constantly got my food orders wrong. I could go on and on, this facility is terrible. Do not let you or your loved ones stay at Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, its awful!

Spent 12 days there after a fall that caused fractured pelvis, hip socket and sacrum. Very professional and their home health service is beyond great. Their food is also beyond wonderful.

Horrible. Barrow Neuroligical Neurological Institute gave specific discharge instructions where they took a patiant OFF morphine which was causing patient falls. Aggresive enough to make him break collarbones. As soon as this facility took patient in they put patient back on morphine. When I arrived 19 hours later I found patient slurring, making up words that dont exist, etc. I asked to see his nurse. When the nurse came up she cut me off. She began administering his meds. When I heard her say "morphine" I spoke up. Told her "No,Barrows discharged him clean from.moephine. thats what caused him.to fall. If ypure giving him morphine you shouldnt be." She looked at me and asked who I was amd proceeded to dose him. I asked to speak to Charge Nurse! What a nightmare. Tina (maiden name of Reynolds) who was RUDE. Brian stood by looking at me, rolling his eyes. Totally unprofessional! I explained professionally how there must be a mistake. Later, they admitted mistakes. We are transferring.

Don't go there. Sparkly clean and new with lots of smiling faces. Nothing else good to say. They take better care of the floors than the patients. Failed to provide service in all areas. Awful food.
