We moved to Poughkeepsie with our four cats in the summer of 2011. We bounced around a couple vets trying to find one we liked and finally landed with Dr. Schwartz at Compassion Veterinary Health Center. Previous places we visited were eager to prescribe meds/special food/etc. without doing the work to determine if this was really necessary. Dr. Schwartz takes his time to get to know the whole family (pets and parents) and listens closely before really diving in to resolve any issues. You always feel heard, welcome, and empowered whenever you visit -- and most of all, at ease and comfortable. Dr. Schwartz is so loving towards all animals and really wants to find a treatment that works for all involved. He diagnosed our oldest cat with diabetes almost a year ago and has worked closely with us to get his numbers in the right place and we are so thrilled to have our guy back to his usual antics of early wake-up calls and energy -- not too mention he's resumed his "King of the Cat Castle" status again (which was called under question by the other cats when he was struggling with diabetes). We couldn't be more thrilled to call this our "home" for veterinary care. Thanks for all of the hard work you do!
