MY WHEEL FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AWAY FROM BOB EWELL!!!! I recently took my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica to Bob Ewell to have the brakes evaluated for replacement. The vehicle has 78k miles and the brake pads/rotors are original. They recommended only replacing the front pads/rotors and told me that the rear pads had 80% life remaining and did not need replacing. After they finished the work, I went to pick up the vehicle. When I was driving away, I heard a rhythmic noise and decided to turn around to go back and ask them about it. As I was making a u-turn, the LEFT REAR WHEEL FELL OFF OF THE VEHICLE AND WENT ROLLING PAST ME as my van skidded to a stop with the brake rotor and suspension making contact with the asphalt. The owners (Danny and Lacy) were very apologetic and agreed to fix everything. They kept the vehicle for several more days, did not offer me a rental vehicle, and tried to do the bare minimum to fix it. I had to ask for them to have the wheel resurfaced when there was obvious physical damage to many parts of the wheel. Both Danny and Lacy told me multiple times how much the repairs were costing them and they became increasingly irritated with me as I continued to hold them accountable for fixing the damage that was caused to my vehicle as a result of it being at their shop. When I finally picked up the vehicle, it had vibrations that were not there before and I ended up taking it to the dealership to be looked over. The dealership said that the vehicle needed an alignment and the rear rotors and pads needed replacing. Their inspection showed heat damage on the rotors (understandable after 78k miles) and about 50% pad life left. I called Danny at Bob Ewell and asked if they would be willing to pay for the $130 alignment. He told me that I was trying to scam him and hung up the phone while I was still talking. Please save yourself the headache and DON’T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO BOB EWELL!!!
