Dental Examination
When plaque and tartar are left untreated on teeth and gums, gum disease may develop. You can reduce your risk of gum disease by brushing twice and flossing once every day. You should also have a dental exam and professional cleaning at least twice each year.
X-rays
Although we are not a party to the contractual arrangement with your insurance company, we do want to help you receive the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled. As a convenience to you we will help you process your insurance claims in order for you to receive the maximum benefit. We will also gladly provide dental x-rays and a written diagnostic report should your insurance company have any questions about the services provided.
Oral Cancer Screening
Dr. Nogueira recommends having an oral cancer screening at least once each year. Regular screenings can help ensure early detection of any potential cancers.

Teeth Cleaning
Professional dental cleanings are important for maintaining great oral health. However, it is vital that you continue good dental hygiene at home as well.
Fluoride Treatment
At Aquidneck Dental, we offer fluoride treatment to prevent tooth decay for our patients. According to the ADA, fluoride intake is often recommended for infants and children between the ages of 6 months and 16 years. During this time, primary and permanent teeth are developing.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are highly effective in preventing tooth decay and cavities on your molars and premolars. These areas are the most susceptible to cavities due to the anatomized grooves.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Composite fillings are made of a tooth-colored, composite resin. This resin is strong, durable, and aesthetic. We gently remove decayed tissue and place your filling to help prevent further damage.
Veneers
Porcelain dental veneers are a type of cosmetic dental solution. Veneers are thin, durable, tooth-colored “shells.” After being custom-fabricated, they are bonded onto the front of your tooth. Veneers look natural and beautiful for an immediate improvement in the appearance of your smile.

Root Canal Treatment
First of all, Dr Nogueira saved me from a bad experience that I had from a previous dentist in Dartmouth MA. A root canal that went bad. I experienced great deal of pain from my root canal and a terrible infection. He was able to get me out of pain and fix & saved my tooth. Also, his assistant Citalisa, who I I can't say enough about, she & Dr. Nogueira are a great team.

Deep Cleaning
The most common treatment for gum disease is known as deep cleaning or scaling and root planing. Our hygienist can perform this gentle and effective removal of tartar, calculus, and infected tissue.

Dentures
Dentures are a removable replacement for one or more missing teeth. They are used to restore both function and aesthetics. Dentures are custom-fabricated to fit your mouth and match the appearance of your natural teeth. The fit of your dentures may be adjusted as needed to ensure comfort and proper function.
Overdentures
Next would be a Milled-Bar supported overdenture, which is even more secure than a traditional overdenture, virtually zero movement during function, but still a removable prosthesis (you take it out to clean it).

He completed his general practice Residency at the Brockton VA Medical Center, with additional studies at the Spear Institute for Advanced Dental Education, The Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study, as well as completion of the Mastership program of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), the highest level attainable. They have helped Dr. Nogueira stay up to date on the most current dental procedures in order to offer his patients the highest quality of care.
