Lee Owen Stone is an excellent preschool. Our eldest daughter has enjoyed two fantastic years; now exceptionally prepared for Kindergarten in the fall. Our second daughter cannot wait to start this fall and our youngest will get to begin Fall 2018. As an experienced teacher myself, I could not be more grateful for Teacher Maggie. Her teaching style, knowledge and experience with preschoolers has helped to teach me to be a better parent. Our family is so lucky to be involved with this wonderful school and are excited for the coming years.
Our family did not have a good experience with Lee Owen stone preschool. If your child has any issues like speech delay or autism spectrum disorder or even just has trouble sitting still, your child will immediately be red flagged and will be seen as a nuisance We found this preschool to be for very wealthy perfect families. There is endless emails and meetings and side work because it is a co-op, so be prepared for that if you join. We did not have a good experience with teacher Maggie and we did not think she was great.
My oldest daughter attended Lee Owen Stone Cooperative Preschool the last two years and my youngest is there this year and next. Our experience has been wonderful. The space is ample with both inside and outside gross motor and dramatic play areas, sensory table, manipulatives, science and art tables, building zones, a library and so much more. Teacher Maggie is the most intelligent, creative and caring of teachers I've met and she connects with children and their parents in profound ways. Both of my daughters have flourished at Lee Owen Stone as has our family. We have met so many families and life long friends as part of the Lee Owen Stone Community. The cooperate preschool model isn't for everyone but it has been great for us.
Lee Own Stone has exceeded my expectations in every way this year. My son is thriving in all areas of his development and I know much is to do with the school and his teacher, Maggie. I believe Teacher Maggie Builds confidence and social skills through songs and stories. Art projects are always thoughtfully organized and on theme with the curriculum. Science projects, like plant life or tadpoles, are constantly being conducted and observed. Because of Teacher Maggie's education, experience, love, dedication and hard work, students feel included and important. I think she has unique skills that also help teach sympathy and empathy to these 3-5 year-olds. Lee Owen Stone is a special cooperative with an amazing teacher. I feel very fortunate my son will be beyond ready for kindergarten.
WORST experience of my life with a company!! They ordered the wrong size, completely ruined the dress during alterations, then double charged me to fix THEIR mistakes. They also ruined every bridesmaid dress they touched. We were all using safety pins to keep things together and attempting last minute alterations during the wedding day. DON'T EVER GO TO TO THEM!!!! They also deleted my negative review and others off their facebook (including comments of multiple stories demonstrating similar terrible behavior) If you want your dress to be the worst part of your special day, then this is the place for you!
I agree with Mrs. Kurt. My daughter briefly attended Powellhurst Daycare back in 2011 and was miserable there. There was one young woman, Tammy, there who was very sweet to the children, but apart from that, there was a lot of yelling and meanness toward the kids, lots of TV, I once saw a staff member shove a boy while yelling at him to sit down.
Pretty sad when a business goes on a frenzy with paying for obviously fake reviews. Maybe they shouldn't all be 5 star writing that it's the best daycare on Earth to raise eyebrows. Maybe the 'reviewers' shouldn't give reviews in every state to make it more obvious it's not a local consumer. Anyways, hire some English speakers and I'll bump up my stars.
The teacher’s number one goal is to inspire, engage, and facilitate learning
Each room is specific to that particular developmental stage and they are exposed to developmentally appropriate curricula, activities, and materials (ie: games, toys, etc.).
The care offered begins with infant care starting at 6 weeks, at one year of age they move in to our wobbler classroom, at two years of age they move in to our toddlers classroom, at three they move in to our preschool classroom, and at four years of age they move in to pre-kindergarten room.
